OP, is that the part in the red square you are talking about?

It looks like manufacturing defect to me. I would send it back and get it replaced.

It's definitely bent. My first iPhone 6 came exactly like that out of the box. Needless to say Apple replaced it without a blink. Now though, I wonder what they will say in your case, since you have actually used it.

Good luck, hopefully they will offer you a new phone. :)

Oh, and the best thing to do to test whether it's bent or dented is to just place it face down on a table. If it rocks, Apple should definitely replace it in my opinion.

that's not a bend.

that's a ding on the edge of the aluminium

the rest of the phone is clearly straight. no bend whatsoever.

you dropped your phone or came like that form factory.

exchange it....

It's definitely bent.

no it's not. in fact that's not even the spot the phone would bend (weak spot people go on about here)

When I finally received my new iPhone 6 after way too long of a wait (preordered 12th September, shipped on 2nd October) I was extremely happy with it.

That changed quite suddenly a few moments ago. When I had a quick look at my phone, which was in the original Apple Leather Case since I got it, I noticed it having a slight bend but wasn't sure if it was the case or the phone. So I took the phone out of the case and what do you know.... it's bent. Ever so slightly, but definitely noticeable. I've uploaded a picture so you can see for yourselves. It's also very clear in the picture that it bends upwards, not downwards, which I think is weird since all the other iPhones had an downward bend (I think).

I only had it in my front pocket for at most 2 hours since the day it arrived (YESTERDAY).
As you might imagine I'm quite upset. I'm going to contact Apple asap tomorrow (it's 10.30 pm here) to find out what I'm supposed to do.

I'd just like to know if any of you have the same problem with your iPhone 6 (not plus).

I can see it. Also the screen is unglued slightly above the vol. buttons. Sorry about that but I guess you can return it.

Return it. Must be factory defect.

Since I got my iPhone 6 I actually tried to bend it slightly. :D

It wont bend that easily. There is no way it could bend in my front pocket or under normal usage scenarios.

if the volume buttons were circles like with iPhone 4 etc. then this wouldn't happened. :(

I really don't know how big the problem really is as so far we have people bending the phones on videos which is really stupid and doesn't prove anything but I did see 2 iPhone 6 slightly bend in 2 different Apple store - of course I know that is because people now go in there and try to bend it but if those stories from people who carry them in pockets are real then we might see an iPhone that is not as durable as those before.
I personally have iPhone 4 and I carry it in my back pocket and sometimes even sit on it and I've never had any issues with it. I'm quite light though (75kg) but still. I want to get the iPhone 6 and almost pulled the trigger but now I've decided to play the "waiting" game to see if there is any adjustment or if there will be more people reporting issues about it.
I actually don't mind taking my iPhone out of the back pocket when I sit down but I wouldn't want to do the same with my front pocket. The phone should withstand front pocket siting position without any issues.

Anyway, lets wait and see 1-2 months if the issue dies down as its now overblown or if there will be more people reporting issues within normal usage. :)

From your photo is quite difficult to see if it's bent....
Btw it could be a production defect. Take it to the genius to have it checked.

----------

Looks like it's been dropped at some point.

If you zoom in, there's a scuff mark right by the volume button "ding", and a white scuff further down (right) on the edge of the display.

Yep I have the same impression. It looks more dented than bent.

----------

I can see the bend. Right where the metal meets the glass around the volume buttons you can see it pretty blatantly. It's not extremely severe but that would still be exchange territory for me.

Op id recommend not listening to the people accusing you of dropping it (pretty clear it's in excellent shape save for the bend).

Take it back, you can either mention the bend or just get a refund. With some people being rejected because of the bend id probably get a refund and then go buy another one later if I wanted it. Just to be sure. I wouldn't even mention the bend.

It might be a good idea to rule out a dent and do what a different poster suggested by laying it flat on the screen and pressing the corners to check for wobble. I don't think it looks like a dent but might as well make sure.
Excellent shape a 3 days old phone judged just by a single very poorly lighted photo?

----------

I personally have seen 2 bent 6 plus's. It's a way bigger problem than first thought.

Sure, especially considering the source.... What an huge statistic

Mine bent the same way, towards the screen. Didn't come that way out of the box, as I had checked it face-down on a flat surface. A few days later of carrying in my front pocket, it wasn't flat anymore.

And no, I didn't drop it, sit on it, bang it, whatever the delusional apologists try to say... Carried it the same way as my 4 and 5, which looked perfect after 2 years of use.

It's just weak as **** around the bottom volume button. Apple replaced it, and I'll be going back if it happens again.

LOL, prove it to you? I sense strong buyers remorse from you......LOL.

Nope.

He loves his iPhone 6 plus and so do I and hundreds of people on this forum who have been carrying around their phones In front pockets without any problem whatsoever.

by the way I'm going into my 3rd week of care free no problem ownership....

----------

This.

I love Apple, but if my phone will bend from carrying it in my pocket like I did years before, it's time for a change

Goodbye!!

Not in the least. I couldn't be happier with mine. Best iPhone yet. Vastly better than the crappy 5 I replaced it with.

And it does happen - when it shouldn't.

Since it won't do that I assume you'll be staying.

But you conveniently failed to take any pictures of it. Surprise surprise.

----------

Don't worry. I'm gonna keep the good stuff. But I pay premium and expect something in return. And until today I did get it, but I'm observing carefully.

Could be that I'm a little older and have to earn my own money. ;)

Nice cheap shot. For the record, I'm 50 and my assets place me in the top 5% in the U.S. Probably not a great idea to go around making rash assumptions about people.

Good to know, but I really don't care. Wasn't quoting you btw.

It wasn't dropped, thats just a reflection from the overhead lights.

How do we know the bend isn't just a refection from the overhead lights?

How do we know you just didn't just bend it it on purpose?

How do we know if this isn't just a photoshopped image?

How do we know if you are not an employee of Samsung or Google?

How do we know if this is a troll post or not?

How do we know you?

How do we know?

It's amazing that recent joiners found there way here and have bent phones.

Additionally, the way the phone is staged, hanging over the case like that, is problematic from a photographic standpoint. It would have been a more useful image if you'd shown the phone face down on a flat surface.

What happens? People claim their phones bend in their pockets?

Your pictures show no evidence of such.

It's a picture of a bent phone. How it got that way is anyone's guess.

Sorry, Twitter is not evidence of phones bending in pockets.

LOL. Good point.

That should of been self evident as most other "pocket bent" phones are shown on a flat surface.

It would appear the OPs photography "tricked" them.

I've said this several times here.

If phones were bending miraculously in pockets then YouTube would be flooded with videos of that occurrence.

But no the only videos that exist is of grown up morons destroying $900 phones with their bare hands
