Not selling my phone. I will keep it as a spare or give it to a family member to upgrade them to something nicer. I love getting a new iPhone every year :D

When iPhone 5 comes out this summer, I will be buying it but keeping my iPhone 4 just as I have done with every previous iPhone model. I still have every single iPhone here and they all work. I even have the 8GB and 32GB 3GS.

I will probably sell my iPhone 4 in June or a couple weeks before the iPhone 5. I'm on a family plan and my family doesn't really upgrade their phones so I usually just get an upgrade from them and when they do upgrade mine is up. I have an iPhone 4 on 4.1 with baseband 1.59.00 and it will probably stay that way until there is an unlock on 4.3. This phone I got four about 330 and hopefully will sell it unlocked for 450 maybe more. I'll see what the going rate is on Craigslist. I sold my 16GB iPhone 3G on craigslist the day the iPhone 4 came out for $200. I didn't think it was that bad of a price since 3GS's were going for 250.

No way am I upgrading. That would mean signing on for another 2 years with AT&T. No, I'm not going there. I'm gonna let my contract run it's course, then switch to Verizon. Now, I could pay full price, but I don't think the changes will warrant paying out $800.

I have always managed to sell my iphone a month or so before the new version is released, then I just upgrade when it is released. I get to upgrade every 12 months and have timed it to coincide with new iphones being announced. Normally get very good money for them as well. :):)

I'll be picking up my iPhone 4 next month for Verizon. When the iPhone 5 is locked in stone, and released I'll decide. I used to be "biggest, best, must... have." when I was working in the Cell industry for 5yrs, but the past year or so I just need my personal functionality. I'm still using my original Droid and haven't wanted to upgrade to a newer one because it worked for what I wanted. As long as my iPhone 4 does what I want w/ the apps I want, and does it snappy... I can wait til the LTE 6 comes.

The way I look at it, if I do decide to buy the 5 anyways, is I can sell my iPhone 4 for a few hundred and then buy the iPhone 5 straight out for near contract pricing, but on the flip side I'll be on my February contract date which aims better for me when the iPhone 6 (w/ LTE) is released in 2012.

Plus July is my bday so I can always use that w/ the wife. :)

i think i might... how much do you guys think i'll have to put it to trade my iphone 4 in PRISTINE condition for a new iphone 5 at retaiL?

I may never sell it and do NOT plan on getting an iPhone 5.

First off, my iPhone 4 works great for my needs. It is hard to keep up with technology. You never know if we upgrade like in our apps that it means it will improve. Sometimes the hardware is still unproven. My iPhone 4 is the most stable phone I have ever had and don't want to lose that for something that looks to be better on paper. It is special to me anyway because I got it on launch day which was a smooth experience and #4 is one of my favorite numbers because my birthday falls on that number.

Secondly, I'm getting bored of iOS already and may want to try something different. I went through the jailbreaking scene with all the customizations and whatnots. Had Intelliscreen, vWallpaper, Customize, Live Clock icon, Live Weather icon, SBSettings (Boss Prefs), and even made it look like those Vista themes using Folders and Poof during those early days when the App Store was still immature and useless.

Since I like to carry two different phones (one w/ contract & one prepaid), I may go Android. I am really looking closely at the XPERIA Play again and curious what type of gaming it brings. I like to try different things to expand my horizons like in music genres. Even in video game consoles, I end up buying them all because they all bring certain things to the table and never get myself into insecure fanboy arguments. In case someone has a problem with an OS, I can always help them out. Keep myself versatile with the different OSes and expand my knowledge and not simply with iPhone. It doesn't mean I will sell my iPhone 4 if I go Android. I can always demote it as a back-up phone/iPod touch when my contract is up. I have too much investments with my apps that puts me locked in a ball & chain with Apple.

I don't fancy selling my iPhone on eBay after the horrific storys of being robbed and loosing your phone and money, but don't know if I can go 5 months now without my iPhone!!!!

What was the money loosed on? The unsuspecting masses?

Most likely I will be selling my iphone 4 for an iphone 5. It's just my personal experience, but my 3gs was a better phone with less quirks.

Doesn't look like I will ever sell it because of a couple Pentalobe screws I'm hearing about that will probably go on the Verizon version and next iPhone. Don't want to deal with the hassle of finding a rarer screw driver. Still got the Philips ones. Whenever I need to change the back or battery, I have the screw driver for it.

I'm not going to make Apple anymore richer. Screw that.

I would rather sell my 3GS now. I'll keep my iPhone 4 as a backup phone when I get the iPhone 5.

I have no idea how you guys do it. Sell the iPhone 6 months before a new one, then buy the new one and use for 6 months, repeat.

It just seems like so much of a hassle, etc. I'd rather just have my iPhone for those six months while I wait.

This. I sold my 3GS maybe a month after I got my iPhone 4 (launch day). I'll probably do the same in this case. 'Cause as much as I'd like the extra cash I'd get by selling early, I love this phone too damn much to make do with anything less for 6 flippin' months.

I agree, you really have to amortize the value you're getting by selling early across those months you're doing without a nice phone. If it's worth the extra $100 to be set back two years or more technology-wise then good for you, for me it wouldn't be. I'll be selling my iPhone 4 whenever I have an iPhone 5.

I'm certainly not going to be selling my iPhone 4 anytime soon. Even with the annoucement of the new iPhone, I'll most likely keep my 4. Apple would have to introduce some new feature that is only available on the new handset which would have to blow me away for me to even consider ditching the 4 for the new model. Plus, I think I would honestly keep my 4 as a back-up phone and jailbreak/unlock it.

Depends on what the iPhone 5 has to offer... But most likely yes because Android or Windows 7 still haven't impressed me enough. Maybe in 2012...

I'll probably wait another year unless there are big changes. That way I get full rebate from my carrier, and my 4 is covered for 2 years with Applecare anyways.

Just gonna get an iPhone 6... I mean why upgrade after only a year when I can wait another year and get a much better model?

I could always use the 4 as an iPod Touch right?
