I picked up a SBSS with Milanese loop to use while my SS was getting repaired (I fell and broke a finger and skinned up my elbow pretty badly and scratched my watch up in the process). I was going to sell the SBSS when I got mine back, but I love it so much I've decided to keep it. I am using the SS as my "everyday" watch and keeping the black one for going out and special occasions. Or maybe I'll sell the SS and just keep the SBSS as my only watch until the 2nd gen arrives. I just know I love the SBSS and how it looks.

The pictures didn't really do it justice, did they?

Mines started to chip where the apple logo is, Apple have said they will replace it. Is this common?

I noticed that my Space Black Stainless Steel band was wearing along the edges around January and stopped wearing it. I have at last count 5 other bands so I can't say it has had heavy wear. I actually got to the Apple Store today to see what they would do about it.

I'm sad to say the answer is nothing!!

They say that wear on a watch should be expected. I am somewhat surprised!! This watch was priced at ~ £1100 including Applecare... I've not used the band in three months, I got the watch in the middle on June 15 so it has had about 7 months wear but during that time I used other bands too. I'd don't think I've used it more than 4 months of actual use.

My previous Tissot watch cost £300 and I handed it down to my son. After 15+ years, it looked worn in not worn out!

I can't see how this watch is fit for purpose!? It is an expensive version of the watch sold as a fashion statement - eg. it's purpose is too look good. I am embarrassed to wear it the silver shining through makes the watch look cheap.

I know my watch was one of the first to come out maybe later ones don't suffer from this?

I would not recommend this band to anyone currently.

Anyone had their watch replaced due to wear?

Anthony

I would go back and speak with someone else. I just had mine replaced this past Saturday without a problem. Mine was due to the buckle becoming stiff and not wanting to close/open on one side. They covered mine with the 12 month limited warranty the band has. Mine did look brand new though, so not sure if that helped my cause. I urge anyone who has a desk job to buy a second mousepad for the band. Only thing that has saved me from chips, or scratches from my desk.

I would definitely speak to a manager about that band. Apple is usually pretty accommodating, occasionally you get the rep that is less helpful than others. Maybe a call to Apple customer service could help too?

Has anyone noticed that Apple hasn't really catered for the Space Black watch face enough regarding straps?

I've just purchased the grey leather buckle and it looks great, apart from the silver clasp being silver and my watch face being black. Wonder why Apple couldn't have released a few straps which had the same colour joining clasp to match the watch face colour :(

Back it goes to Apple

I think you're late to that thought, Leebroath. Some online shopping just through Apple's website should have shown you that, especially a year later.

I think the space black options, with the SB Milanese loop that was just released, have been catered well for the market. They expected the link to be most popular with the $500+ market. I'd even say they might have thought they wouldn't even want a sports band, but they added that showing they're catering to a "lower" range. I own all 3 SB options and don't yearn for more.

I take it you're returning the band and not the watch. Why not just buy 3rd party, like most people in here?

I bought a couple of leather bands with black adapters. They're on page 17 or 18.

Ouch! Don't use any type of polish or abrasive. There's a guy on YouTube that I think just used soap, water, and a paper towel.

Ok thanks, like liquid soap?

Yeah I didn't swap to my sports band before hand I was just dumping weeds into the green bin and I guess some of the dirt on the bottom of one of the containers I picked up scraped it!

[doublepost=1461711325][/doublepost]Yeh I have purchased 3rd part bands :) all are pretty cool and I didn't realise the grey would have a silver clasp bit, forgot it would just arrive as silver :(

Back the strap goes to Apple and will have a look more at UK leather strap sellers :)

Got mine today. I have officially joined the club! I have ordered the JEtech black milanese loop and now I find myself looking for bands that will add a little bit of color and contrast to the space black. Any suggestions? I have considered buying the royal blue woven nylon that apple just released.View attachment 628875

I got a white sports band that makes it look like a storm trooper LOL.

Now I want to get the white LL and the space black ML.

Somebody posted a picture of the royal blue somewhere in this thread. That's the one I want as well. Maybe a yellow sport band too.

I'll let you know what I think about the JETech when I get it. Should be tomorrow hopefully.

I am close to ordering a red Moko sport band now, too.

Also, does anyone with the 38mm use it for sleep tracking? Any problems with battery?

yes the individual magnets. And yes taste is subjective and if you enjoy it, perfect! It isn't for me as I do not like the design at all especially for the price.

Definitely subjective as the leather loop is my favorite of the bunch. I don't yet have an AW, though, so I'm just living vicariously through others for now.
