It's roughly 10% of your investment. Which honestly, in percentages, is ridiculous.. but you gotta remember that you can use it multiple times to get your moneys worth.
I usually get it on my iPhone's but have never bothered with the Watches.

Just back home after successfully reserving a SB SS in Apple Store. All set up and ready to go. So, next question; Apple Care Plus for Watch. Worth it? Anyone taken it up?

I got it last year with S3. Learned that it can't be used to replace or fix a scratched glass. If you are finding that you will be upgrading yearly, I don't see the point. If the watch is defective Apple will replace the watch with the regular Apple Care that comes with it for the first year. If you're planning to keep the watch 2+ years then maybe it is.

Separately, I don't like the fact that Apple increased the price by 50% this year. That is an out of control price increase. My preference is to not support that.

One thing I have noticed is that when changing bands the SS seems to be a lot tighter to slide the band off than the aluminium? Anyone else noticed this? It was dead easy to remove bands on the aluminium.

True. I think because it’s easier with the bands to Slide out of the port with the aluminum, because it has more of a matte smooth Like-finish, where the stainless creates more contact with steel to steel lugs to remove them.

I Noticed this with my link band with my stainless Apple Watch in the past, you just have to take your time.

Another thing I’ve noticed. The Digital crown seemed more “clicky” in the aluminium. It’s much more subtle on the SS. Anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to increase the feel of the clicks?

The consistency with the digital crown click is variable from model to model, it might feel more pronounced with the stainless model over the aluminum or vice versa, and that’s how all my previous Apple Watches have been in the past, there’s also been threads on this as well. You Can adjust the haptic feedback in general for the Apple Watch, or you can completely disable the digital crown haptic click.

Ok. Thanks. I can hardly feel it on this SS. Was much better on the aluminium.

Sorry, maybe I didn't make myself clear. It's hard to describe. It's not the "push" of the Digital Crown, it's the scrolling. If I hadn't tried the aluminium I would not know any difference. It's feels like on the aluminium that the "spokes" on the wheel where large and therefore like click, click, click, one at a time, and the spokes on the SS are more smooth, like small and the feeling is more like clicking several at a time? Like move it a little and you've scrolled past 10 spokes. Ha! Hope this makes sense! Not easy to describe...
[doublepost=1539801326][/doublepost]I think I might of got somewhere. If the screen on the phone is full of text, say scrolling through an email, then the feel of the scroll is more fluid. If, for example, you're scrolling through your music, the click will be one per album or playlist. The speed of the clicks depends on the text and content showing on the watch face. Pretty clever actually. It still felt stronger on the aluminium though...

The "clicking" got the better of me and on a whim I drove to the Apple Store. Tried the click on the Aluminium and it's definitely more prominent on those models. Anyway, they gave me a new SS in exchange. When I set it up it's exactly the same as the first one! At least now I know. It must be something to do with the extra weight of the SS's?

The Hermes watch faces are what also set it apart from the non Hermes. The Apple Watch faces are just plain ugly. Every one of them. With the Hermes you get an unparalleled band but beautiful watch face. Apple will keep the association because that it all it has that make the watch a fashion item. Also, it is only a $450 premium for the most expensive offering AW with Milanese Loop.

Good points and you also get the orange sport band with Hermes. So, when you add up the leather band and sport band costs, it easily makes up for the price differnce, if you like those bands and then the Hermes watch face is an added bonus with an extra year of warranty too.

Notice me trying to talk myself into the purchase! LOL. :)

Great posts but I’m still on the fence. I am happier now that the SB won’t scratch. I thought it would be worse than the silver. Think I need to get in the shop and try them but I was frustrated when I went in the other day they only had 40mm SS’s

Yes noticed that too. My fake link bracelet does not fit in the SS but slides in perfectly with the aluminum.

I have had the series 2 Space Black since inception.

The finish is ultra durable and doesn’t show scratches. I had an original SS Apple Watch and that thing scratched 100x as badly.
Thats right, but you can polish every SS Silver to a brand new look.
Here my S0 after 3 years use and a polishment.

Not exactly, this Space black _can_ scratch, but it’s very difficult to do with the diamond like carbon coating. It really depends what type of surface the watch comes in contact with, but it is very durable and I have owned two generations of the space black Apple Watch.

The only trouble I have with the SBSS is the fact I live in a diamond-encrusted palatial penthouse, so have to be really careful on catching it on any of the surfaces in the place... For example, yesterday I nearly caught it on my diamond-encrusted toilet roll holder!

Haha so that's the reason you bought the S3 ceramic model. ;)

Right after getting my Series 3 last year, I accidentally brushed against the wall in my basement (concrete). It scratched the DLC.

I went nearly a whole year with a scuffed up Space Black Stainless Steel watch. Before getting it replaced with Apple Care, I wanted to see how durable it was.

I found out that the "Diamond Like Carbon" is a lot softer than the sapphire display.

Regular sandpaper will take the black DLC right off. Scraping the watch against my floor tiles took the DLC off like it was nothing, leaving awful silver shining through.

I have gallery of some pictures of my old Series 3:

Knowing now how delicate (and non-reparable) the black DLC is, I'm tempted to get the silver SS next time, as I know it can be buffed and polished if scratched.

Wow! That looks like it’s been in a car crash! There’s no way you did that with a “brush against a wall”?!

Did u get those bands on Amazon?
How do u like them

yeah i got them 3 years ago from a reputable seller, can't remember if it's amazon or ebay. very comfortable and they have held up well. i dont wear them a lot now that i wear scrubs everyday, but i would recommend.

Yeah, that's the problem with DLC, whether it be the Apple Watch or a mechanical watch. My SS Series 0 and link bracelet are very scratched up, but stainless steel excels at looking nice and worn in with scratches, like a vintage watch, and you can polish it if you want. DLC looks fantastic until you get through that coating, then it looks pretty bad.
