Thanks for all the input. I am liking the SS Black with sport band. Then either going to add a Pad and Quill band or Nomad one in leather. Still deciding between those two but both have matching hardware to the space black.

I have been wearing the SS Black with the Black Link bracelet since release, and love it more than I thought I would. By that, I mean I thought at first I'd be keeping the link bracelet on the dresser 99% of the time and wearing a black sport band. It's the opposite. Even more than 99%. The link bracelet is really comfortable and has great heft but not too much. It's also much, much more durable than I thought (no scratches, although I did have a black link, only a single link, begin to fade on the backside that AAPL is replacing).

I don't like the look of the sport band with the SS Black. It's different from the SG Sport watch the sport band is meant to pair with. The Shine-Matte contrast doesn't look good to me, but that's in the eye of the beholder....

I started with the space grey sport, then went to silver stainless, now on the black stainless steel. Black SS is my favorite by far.

90% of the time I wear it with a blue leather loop.

Stainless Steel Link is just a classic watch look, goes with anything on any occasion, love my watch

I have the SS with SS Link and as posted, it goes with everything while the SS Black wouldn't look that good with certain colors (Brown and shades of brown) - also, I think it could clash if the band in black wasn't a perfect match for the black of the watch. However, the SS Black would really pop with Product Red/Midnight Blue sport bands for sure - same for Midnight Blue leather loop. If I was given the choice and they were the same price, I would probably stick with SS with SS Link - it looks very professional.

I had the sport at first a few weeks ago and ended up with a scratch on my screen.

Immediately decided to exchange it for the S/S version and it's sapphire crystal glass.

Within days I saw a good deal of hairline scratches on the body of the watch and honesty was going to just return it and call it day. Yes I know the scratches can be polished out, I've owned a ton of Brietlings that have a very similar mirror finish.

The watch was getting returned until I got my eyes on the Space Black S/S 42mm with the Black Sport Band...Right away fell in love!

Wearing it lately with the Black Leather Loop and just friggin love the watch!!!

For those saying the Silver Stainless is classier...I'd have to delightfully disagree.

This is why I don't like black watches. They create a well-defined split in the arm making it look bulkier and heavier than it really is. Same with people who insist on wearing black socks with shorts, they make you look shorter and heavier by visually chopping you off at the ankles.

This is all personal opinion of course but the black watch looks much bulkier and heavier than the exact same watch in the lighter colour. The lighter colours don't cause that thick break at the wrist.

I've got something to the tune of 20 inch arms that are covered in Japanese style tattoos, a blacked out S/S watch looks more in place on my wrist than a mirrored shiny S/S watch. What works for me may not work for you, and vice versa.

Yeah, that's why I said it was personal opinion.

I love my SBSS. I've been wearing it with various sport bands and I think it looks awesome. I would love to get a blue and a black leather loop, but when I tried the leather loop before it kept getting loose on me throughout the day.

I'm holding out hope that Apple makes a SB Milanese loop band.

Wife and i are fortunate to have both.
Originally picked up the Stainless Steel few weeks after launch day and picked up the Space Black Stainless Steel almost 2 weeks ago.
Both watches are unique in their own way and mostly its all has to to with the preference and taste of the user/buyer.

I will definitely say that i believe the Stainless Steel is a bit more classier to me. It looks much better with a suit or a shirt and i tie, it compliments that look better to me.
But if i had to choose one, i would go with the Space Black Stainless Steel. To me the the black watch goes better with all the bands and i have probably like 7 sport and 3 leather loops and the Space Black Steel watch looks much better with them than the Stainless Steel. The SB is more stealthy and appeals to me. But then again, i like things that are dark in nature.

You can definitely read all the replies on here but it's your taste and preference that matters. You have 2 weeks to return it, pick one up, wear it for 10 days and then exchange for the other one and see which one you like more.

I briefly owned the stainless steel watch and switched to the space black once it was announced with the sport. I much prefer the stealthier look and feel that it's still classy while not being as noticeable. To quote a review, coupled with the link bracelet it's very Batman like.

Having just got a SB SS, I'm definitely a fan. It's a different style of classy. Still has a lot of shine to it. It's definitely more unique than the polished SS. Admittedly though not as versatile for lots of different bands. I have the black sport (came with) and leather loop.

If you find the leather loop not holding well, definitely assess the Milanese before you commit. When trying in store, I found the leather loops to hold better than the Milanese. They both work similar with the magnetic closure. I got a black leather loop. Like it a lot. Might get a blue one too eventually.

Did you end up getting a Nomad leather band? I'm curious about it as I really like the look of it.

I like that! I'm planning on making a trip to the Apple Store Wednesday to try on some different bands with my SBSS. Black Leather Loop or maybe the Midnight Blue Leather Loop were my top picks but after seeing the Stone color I may need to try that one too!

I just picked up a black s/s this weekend over the sport model or even the stainless model. I've been wearing a misfit the last year and it was all black. That was the look I liked. I don't see myself with extra bands and mixing and matching. I wouldn't mind an extra band or two but those will probably be black but a different style. If I worked in an office place or dressed to impress I might have went w/the s/s just because I do think it pairs with more options.

I have been on the fence on whether to buy the SB SS with SB or the SS with Project Red band. I know I can buy the red and add it to a SB, but I'm still torn.

I'm used to wearing G-shock watches, so I'm leaning towards the SB SS.

I actually ended up getting a custom band from the Etsy shop Zeno. He made it the exact way I wanted it and the craftsmanship is great.
