I haven't spoken with anyone at Apple ever in regards to the watch. I made my order on April 10th at 00:05:55 and have sat "patiently" since. I've been going on what I've seen from these forums (I know, it's a small sample size). Based on what has been going on, seems that the first 3 minutes of orders were charged AFTER planes landed in KY. In hindsight, the orders may have been charged BEFORE the planes landed.

All this means nothing. Just another person guessing in the wind like everyone else here. Never do I ever assume someone on here is 'in the know'. It's all hearsay and guesses, with the occasional trolling. It's just for fun.

Apple initiates the charge when the shipping label is printed. If the charge is approved you see a "pending" on your CC account. That "pending" can take a few days to turn into a full blown charge. That is why most people don't see an actual charge until after they get their AW. But make no mistake, Apple makes sure they will get paid before the product goes out the door.

Don't know where you are in New Jersey, but if comparable to NYC you should get an email shipping notification this afternoon, followed by UPS recognizing the tracking number several hours later, and delivery tomorrow.

Hopefully of use to the people who woke up this morning to find they were charged. I woke up yesterday morning to the same information. Today I have a watch out for delivery. And UPS didn't admit the tracking number existed until almost 11 o'clock last night. UPS Origin was Louisville Kentucky.

Apple sent me an email saying my bank "declined" the charge.

I updated my info- I think I incorrectly typed in my zip.


Does anyone know if this will impede my delivery?

It shouldn't as long as you updated your info relatively quickly. Mine was incorrect as well. I provided the correct info and I was charged about a minute later. My watch arrives today (2 days after the charge).

Funny story.. I ordered my 42mm sg sport on the 23rd got an order number that started with 575.. Accidentally canceled the order last night and since they cannot reverse it I had to re order. So I ordered again last night still have "June" ship but now a order number that starts with 476

I'm pretty sure that means absolutely nothing. The order numbers don't seem to have any order to them, no pun intended (well maybe sort of).

The thing I thought was funny was that apple couldnt reverse the cancel even though it was 2 mins b4 I initiated the chat with sales.

In case anyone cares how 'just in time' they are manufacturing these watches.

My watch is being delivered today. Based on the serial number, it was manufactured last week (week 17).

The serial number could have been "claimed" early in the manufacturing process so it could possibly be even closer to JIT. Amazing to see how close they are to coming right off the line but a VERY poor job of planning and supply chain management overall. I guess Burberry is not used to such an immediate demand for product.

I wonder if these times during pre order matters because when I selected my watch it said June even before I submitted the order. I was concerned about submitting the order because I was waiting for my payroll check to go into my account, didnt know it wouldnt be charge until it prepare to ship then get charge. Anyway I submitted the order 3:56am EST with processing. Currently saying May 29th to June 11th 4 - 6 weeks. Originally had June then changed this Monday 4 - 6 weeks. Seems like a lot of movement for people delivery times May 13th - May 26th

Total speculation here but you have to consider UPS' capacity to deliver 1M+ watches also. UPS may have given Apple a very nice rate for over night shipping however may have needed to put stipulations in that restricted Apple to only ship X amount of watches a day to any given region of the US.

During the holiday season UPS scales it's workforce in order to meet the requirements of delivering the additional packages however I am doubtful they would bring on additional people just for the launch of a new Apple product.

Again, total speculation as I have ZERO background in this area.
