I think the fact that many of us who ordered 4/10 in dawn hours have June shipping dates - 2 @#!!#@ months after the initial preorder - likely contradicts that.
Of course, we keep hearing that things are moving faster, and that shipping times are conservative (I call BS, Apple) - but I think we're just fooling ourselves. For many of us, this is a dirty 2 month slog to the finish line, end of story. Particularly for the suckers among us (myself included) who ordered a 42mm SG Sport - the Watch of Doom.
What BS? Many people with shipping dates starting May 13th have already gotten their watches - so things are certainly faster than the dates they were given and we are still 8 days from the START of their estimated dates and a whopping 22 before the May 27th end of the range.
Sure, lots of people hoped to get one the first day. Didn't happen. People can say Apple should have waited longer so they had more stock - but that would, of course, not have changed a single thing as to when they actually got the watch except that the first deliveries would be later.
So, like I've said before, just make believe the official start of deliveries was later - let's say May 8th - so a whole bunch of watches were ready to go. And then Apple started delivering them two weeks early! People would be really excited about the surprise at getting their watches ahead of time!
Yet the actual arrival of the watches for any individual would be the same as now. It's all perception.
Though I really would like mine NOW (xx:08:36 official time).
