What do you guys think would you go for ? the Space Gray Colour or the Silver rMBP ? which looks chic ? I am confused !! I have got suggestions Space Gray Looks elegant but I feel Silver looks more classy and timeless even 5 years down the line it won't look bad. Don't know so much about Space Gray. What do you guys suggest ?

Would check them out in store and decide

nic

I think me too ! Seeing them in person makes a lot of difference but from the looks of it. It looks a tight clincher. I am fixated on Silver but I am also slowly getting inclined towards Space Gray.

You are right the Silver is timeless the space gray will end up like the black

Few things I'm considering myself:

- I like the darker MacBook 12" in the stores, but I'm worried it's more because it's different and that I'd get bored with it after a while.
- After using a silver MacBook Air for years, I think that's the safer and more timeless color. I'll be using the new one for many years to come as well, and don't want to take the risk, especially with this new price point.
- I prefer the contrast between the black bezels / keyboard and the lighter casing on the MBP.
- Silver matches many of my silver gadgets, like the Magic Keyboard and (older, all silver) trackpad.
- I read in some reviews that the Space Gray version picks up smudges way more easily.
- I never worry about scratching the MBA, since they won't show as much (not sure how much of an issue that is with the Space Gray though).

not mbp though, bought the macbook core m3 in space grey, returned it for the silver core m5. the silver is timeless. space grey becomes dull and boring after 2-3 days of my usage. it felt not black enough, just dull. meanwhile the contrast in keyboard and the silver macbook is awesome.

You mean the contrast between black bezels and silver body right ?

Ummmm....Well in my case in any case I am gonna have a cover put on the Mac so don't know how smudges would appear on the body.

But nevertheless very good points. Worth considering...

All the reports I read talk about how cool the space-grey looks on the MBP, although people are right in saying that silver is 'timeless'. It just comes down to taste I guess.

For a little while, there will be an added 'attractiveness' factor - if thats what you are into - in having space grey, as it will be obvious to anyone that it is the new MBP. Won't bother me much, unless someone is sniffing around my kitchen, but for some who travel there may be a little buzz about the show-off factor :)

If you never owned silver, then get silver first. If you owned silver before or want to stand out a little more from the crowd since almost every MB I see is silver, then change it up for space gray.

Silver would be my first choice if I never owned it in that color yet. But if you have, then sorta color code and differentiate your MacBook. Similar to when buying your second car. Do you really want it to be the same color as your first?

If I look at the results of this poll then I guess the silver one will be exotic soon.

I am unsure if that's a good or a bad thing with regard to the resale value.

Another thread on color vs color haha. As I said in another thread, Space Gray wins this question at around 75% every time. You'll have the novelty of the silver MacBook that will always entice a select few, but 3 out of 4 people on average will want the Space Gray. It's just a cleaner look overall, and fresh.

I believe the color switchers outnumber the platform switchers which tend to be loyal to a specific brand. I think it is human nature to switch things up. When people buy cars , houses, or wear clothing , does it always have to be the same color?

If you eat at your favorite restaurant ordering your favorite food for a month straight , of course it won't be your favorite anymore and would get sick to your stomach repeatedly eating the same food everyday for a month.

I like both color options. Just change things up but you really can't go wrong with both. Silver is classic but more common. Space gray is a little more different and less common but may show dust and smudges easier. Just color switch to spice things up.

Went for space grey too, fancied a change from silver and it looked better on the site.

It's a no brainer for me. Go dark. Less light glare off dark surfaces. For your eyes it's best to go dark. Anyhow, I think the dark machine will probably hold better value for resale.

Space grey USB just stunning. I had silver with my 14 MPB and it's been around for a long time. SG stands out nicely.

Ordered silver, still leaning towards it to be honest. They've killed off Space Gray in iPhones so if it was to go darker I would have preferred a complete matte black, and my OCD will kill me with the smudges.

I ordered space gray, but I'm considering canceling it and switching to silver. I saw the space gray one and it tends to show smudges and fingerprints more easily. They didn't have a silver one on display, but when I looked at the rMB silver there were no fingerprints other than on the shiny logo.

Because space gray is a new color, silver looks boring. It's hard to make up my mind.
