Space grey looks indeed more professional. But i think it all comes down to personal preference. Me myself prefers black slate more because it looks badass, just like black matte painted car.

I got the gray, fed up of waiting for the gold. will sell mine when I get it. :D

I agree.

I have the space grey and would take it any day over white or gold.

Looks much more professional and less flashy.

I love all these comments about phones making you look professional. I don't know what world you guys live in but I have worked in a corporate environment for quite some time and NEVER in my life have I paid attention to anyone's phone and/or what color it is or associated this choice with professionalism.

I'm a little worried about how many people really do think like this. This isn't good for the business environment.

Agreed. The CEO of my company uses a Nokia flip phone. Why, I don't know. He's pretty old and old school at that. So people who give a crap about what kind of phone a professional uses must think he's the office janitor:cool:

Well actually it's the phone color that looks professional, not the user.
If a man doesn't shave for 1 year, i doubt it he would look professional even if he uses a suit. :D

Saw it in the Apple Store last week and was pleased that I made the right choice. Much prefer it to the Slate iPhone 5 I have to say. The silver & gold look good, but the grey is definitely the one I wanted. We'll see when i actually get mine!

So the space grey is definitely the one you wanted and you're glad that you made the right choice, but you still have to "see" when you get yours?

Maybe he is just not that familiar with technology. It is normal, my CEO also uses a Nokia, but it is real gold plated....

My apologies, emphasis not clear in words. Last sentence was referring to the fact that at the time I wasn't sure "when" I'd actually receive it due to extended delivery times for UK online orders ... The emphasis being on "when" rather than "see". To clarify again, I have no doubt whatsoever that the grey is the one I want.

I thought the post was clear as day.

I know a lot of people are on the fence regarding the black and space grey. If you've not seen it yet and are unsure go and have a look, it is a stunning phone. Person preference I know but I prefer it's gunmetal look over the iphone 5 slate.
Did not like the bling bling gold and had a silver iphone 5 and was unsure. Everyone's taste is different I guess

I only chose white because I've had black since 3G and gotten a tad bored and every time I upgrade it doesn't feel as new. I adore the white, but I do still like black, however as much as I loved the space grey colour, The glass on back contrasted too much and for me look odd (in pictures).

Not been able to see any instore.

Well this is what I gathered from this topic:

Slate iPhone 5 owners prefer slate and hate space gray, no way.

Space gray iPhone 5S owners mostly prefer space gray, but did like slate too.

This all = space gray wins. :p

I love my space gray (coming from white 4s), just got it today. And like everyone is saying, it's stunning and classic and refined looking. My boss has a slate 5 and it looks sleek, but too black in my opinion. It was pointless to have a "two-toned" phone when the colors are too close & matching. Contrast is king. It's art.

Plus the space gray wont show the dings as bad. And my car is gunmetal grey so it matches.

I wasn't too sure at first with the Space Grey because I really liked the slate black that the 5 had but when I see the 5S at my local Apple Store it was actually really nice looking.

If I get a 5S it will be a Space Grey one, no doubt about it!

Still no regrets with the grey :D.

The best looking iPhone I've had.

Silver 2G, Black 3G, white 3GS, black 4, white 4, white 4s, white 5.

Posted these before, this is my space grey.

Nice photos :) I really like the contrast on the new Space Grey!
Looks like you have a protector at the back? ;)

I do, on the grey area (I had some left over from when I bought 5 packs of protectors for the 5).

I thought it was a good idea to give a little protection when putting it down without thinking on dirty work benches.

SG is gorgeous, White/Silver is nice, and White/Gold is for that special person who just doesn't care. Admittedly there are a lot of people out there that seem to not (observationally in the Asian markets, a cultural thing I guess).

But let's face it, the reason why there are these threads is because a lot of people "settled" for a Grey on launch day and either learned to love it, or are just looking for validation.

Then there's the Gold...

Personally, the fact that folks with Gold 5S's have to reassure everyone by saying "it's not that gaudy in person" or "it's really understated in real life, not flashy like you'd think" is the EXACT reason why a lot of people will never want to own one. The PERCEPTION is that it's gaudy, flashy, and gimmicky, and even if it's totally wrong, perception is reality.

Maybe in a year it'll still be hot. Or maybe the novelty will fade and reality will set in that the reason why it's so hot now is that it's different, and different screams "look at me, I have a 5S!" which will NOT have much value in a year when the 6 launches and no one cares anymore.

Black is ALWAYS in style. Besides missing my Slate a bit, I am so glad that I wanted the Grey from the start. Not only was I not dissapointed on launch day, but I got the best looking phone of the bunch anyway :D

Win WIN!

Space Gray is nice...but I prefer the slate over the SG. Slate just had that stealth look to it.

Funnily enough I didn't particularly care for the slate (I bought a white 5 twice).

I was lucky enough to be almost at the front of my queue on launch day so had the choice of all 3 colours. I was going to buy white/silver but the Apple staff gave us a sneak peak at the different colours and I almost immediately decided it was the space grey.
