So, my XS is a wonderful device. Mostly. But i do have one anoying issue with it.

Randomly, the top stereo speaker stops working, and the only thing i can do to get it to work, is to restart my phone.

Sometimes it happends few times a day, and sometimes it goes days between times.

I have DFU-restored my device 2 times, without backup (Set up as new iPhone).

Apple support in Sweden is investigating the issue, since they made me upload sysdiagnose logs on 3 occactions.

Anyone else with this problem?
Is it hardware/software-related?

I feel scammed by Apple. In Sweden, the XS 64GB model is about 1400 USD (incl. VAT).

The only gate I like is bill gate, other then that you can keep the gate on your yard.

Sounds like you have a defective phone. You should return it and get another one. Sorry that happened to you.
From the post below it looks like others are having the same issues with the speaker. So there might have been a bad batch in production. It happens with mass production sometimes.

Or SpeakerGate
The fact that my XsMAX has louder keyboard clicks on 40% Volume than 100% Volume weird.

Yes you have been scammed, Apple always has a box of bad devices at launch, so they can hand these out to unsuspecting buyers, and create a "Gate",
this ensures media coverage when they magically soleve the problem :)

Just return it.more simple then creating a poll :)

its probably a software bug. If it was hardware a restart wouldn't just simply fix it every time. IT would eventually give out.

Curious since you’ve mentioned this several places, why do you need the keyboard clicks to be so loud that everyone around you hears your every tap? Genuinely curious. I’ve always kept mine silent.

Happened again but I made a call and ear piece worked but didn't play music from ear piece.

Can we report this so they fix it. It's clearly a software bug. Or else no sound would come out of ear piece.

I wonder what triggered this tho.

No it’s not just you. Got max on launch thru Verizon. Had that issue. Got a replacement thru apple. Have same issue with this phone. Updated my software to newest version. Hadn’t went on since Monday. See what happens. There are many people on the apple community who have same issue.

Report the bug to Apple.

Yay, another ”Look at me, I’m claiming to have a “gate” issue, when I probably don’t even have an issue and I don’t really understand what “gate” actually refers to, otherwise I would realise how silly it is using the term” type thread.

On the other hand, all the "-gate" stuff aside, seems like there are more than even a few threads discussing the same thing...

And how does Watergate relate to a minor inconvenience on a personal tech device?

Your reply is exactly the argument they were putting forth. The two don't relate, therefore the OP should stop using the term "gate". Hopefully the irony here isn't lost on anyone else.

The unfortunate use of # and -gate seems to have mostly derailed the discussion here from the actual main topic relating to the top/earpiece speaker cutting out.

I have this same problem. Only restarting the phone solve the problem which it seems is a software bug with one app or something. I didnt know there was a thread about it and i posted this issue on my own post.
