Any pics of the other colors in the Satin line? Or an InCase hard shell?

Sounds like a lot more people bought the Speck...but the incase has better reviews. Fewer colors though, I think...

Yeah incase is definitely more popular but ill be going speck this time around. I treat my MBPs very well and have had two incase shells dis-align my screen. It kept on creaking when I would open it and the black strip across the back had tons of give. Luckily I got it replaced no problem both times.

This thread got me to order the black satin speck case tonight.... it looks really good.

I don't recommend the black satin case. It gets dirty very quickly and easily. I found myself cleaning it 3-4 times a day.
switched to a leather casing instead.

I can't imagine it's much worse than my incase which I didn't mind, other than the screen alignment issues of course ha.

^^^^^ I read the review. Definitely nothing to worry about. Never had that problem at all and I kinda know what he means. But it definitely don't bother the way it charges. Works perfectly for me.

According to this amazon.com reviewer

http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A2T8BSIIGDZYJS/ref=cm_cr_pr_pdp :(

Can anyone else verify if this is true ?

That's a misleading review.

I've got a 2010 15" MBP, I have a new Speck Satin case. We talked about this in another thread. Mine is the crappy picture halfway down the page showing the very slight angle you'll have using the Speck Satin with the new magsafe plug. It is, indeed, about 1mm or so, nothing big. If you are OCD, it may bother you. I don't notice it. Compared to the other guys case pictures where the plug is WAY angled, its no big deal really.

If you go to page two, someone cut off the entire clip to get the magsafe adapter to fit straight.

To me, that's just nuts. To each their own, however.

Agree. I don't want to chop off a bit of the case. Its like killing one patient to save another from disease. The slight angle of the adapter bothered me in the beginning but I'm trying to suck it up.

Heat issues with Speck case

Seeing that the MBP vents heat through the body of the laptop as well as the fans, will installing a Speck cover affect cooling?

Thanks,
Stephen

I'm sure that it does impact heat dissipation in some sense, as Speck even builds a series of vent holes into the bottom of the unit. Interestingly, the 'vent holes' run the length of the base of the case, although only the left 1/3 or so are actually vented all the way through. I don't know enough about the inner mechanics of the MBP to know if there is a heat sink on that side or what.

But for all the clamor about heat issues, my 2010 MBP is sooooo much cooler than my 2007 MBP (non-Unibody model) was its not even funny. The Speck Satin cases are so thin I'm not sure it makes that big of a difference anyway.

Best place to purchase Speck..

Shopping online now... any suggestions as to where to get the best price on a speck case?

Thanks.

Thanks for the information, went ahead and purchased it online. Now eagerly waiting for my new 15 inch MBP 2.54 HR

I contacted Speck about new cases and got the same reply as that reviewer on Amazon. Personally I don't want to spend my money on something that isn't a perfect fit and that I have to modify. I'll just wait until Speck or someone else comes out with a new design. In the meantime I'll figure something out or be very careful with my Macbook Pro.

had to use rubbish vga on camera? no idea how to make the size under 1.44mb??

Is that the InCase gray color, or just the clear speck? I like it!

yup as stated below incase frost hardshell. it isnt slippery like the speck hardshells i think its the equivalent of the satins? my only gripe is that i find taking off the screen cover to clean a bit annoying and the magsafe doesnt fit right...if i were you i would wait until a new revision of the product is released :D

Scratches caused by the case

I heard in 07 that theses cases cause scratched on the Alu on Macbook. Is this not the case any more?
