Windows 7 Crashing fixed by right clicking > compatibility > run in compatibility mode > windows 98/me.

Right click on Spirit and select properties. Select Compatibility tab and hit the drop down...the rest is self explanatory.

Are you tethered? If so, you must restore first then run Spirit

This worked for me also.
I was getting error on Windows 7 64Bit machine.

Nope, it is weird.

More then likely, you will have to do a restore and then jail break. Make sure that your Spirit properties are set to Win98 or 95. Some have failed at 98 and switched to 95 and had success.

getting mywi installed

The spirit jb seemed to work fine for me on my 3G iphone.

I went to the rockyourphone site, and bought mywi. Ok, done.

They say to run cydia and install rock.app from there.

And that's where I get lost. I have no idea where this app is, how to get it, etc. Cydia doesn't seem to know about it, or I can't figure cydia out.

I know I am missing something awfully simple - but its late and I'm tired.

Help?

When cydia launched I told it I was a user - so the highest filters are being used. Should I not have done that and perhaps it won't let me see this app?

I ran into trouble with this too. Search for and download the "mywi" app (not the WITHOUT Rock version, the version with rock included). This will install mywi and connect you to the account.
