1. Download spirit.
2. Open spirit
3. Close all other apps
4. Plug in phone/iPad (on)
5. Click "jailbreak"
6. Wait a minute of two for your device to reboot.
7. Enjoy!

You guys rock! This all new to me and I can't wait to jump in!

For those of you using Snow Leopard or maybe just in terms of OSX close your itune before you jailbreak. I tried with itune open and closed, it failed me when itune was open it just stucks at white waiting page. Then I did a restore and closed itune this time and it worked. Just a suggestion :D

So are you guys installing appsync 3.1?

Yeah I see the iPad apps also. are people installing app sync 3.1? installous iPhone version? I'd really like the ability to try apps before i buy them, especially when iPad apps are so ridiculously expensive, and there's no such thing as a refund.

Ok fellas, i was able to jailbreak my phone but how do i tether this bad boy? im not seeing the toggle option when i go to my network setting. is there more to it?

Yes, you need to get the MyWi app from Cydia which is $10.

LOL watch apple update by friday. Ipad apps are already being cracked

yeah its sad. thats why people that dont know any better think all jailbreakers jailbreak to steal applications. I havent stole a single thing. in fact I just donated $ to comex. Will probably be buying alot of cydia applications once The quality ones start rolling in.

Got stuck at loading screen, had to restore. After restore I ran spirit again and it worked. I'm now restoring from backup. Hopefully this doesn't remove cydia...

What is Categories?

What other stuff do you guys recommend? Ive never been jailbroken before. :D This is like Christmas!

Restore from backup may take you back to no jailbreak, but let us know what happens.

yeah it is sad and this jailbreak is easy so more and more people will do it. It took less then a min for me to jailbreak my ipad. I rember jailbreaking the iphone took some kinda skill.

yeah ive been jailbreaking since the days of iunlock and ziphone. so easy nowadays.

This was my first time using jailbreak, I only will use it for using my 3G internet which I already pay for monthly on my iPhone, to be able to use it on my iPad.

Categories allows you to bypass the 11 page limit (might be less) for apps and allows you to put your apps/games into folders. You can have a sports folder that you open and you will see all your sports games or a RPG folder etc. This saves on space and you can have as many apps as your iPAD storage will hold on instead of being limited by the page limit.

Yeah, I remember back in the day when I had to click my mouse 5 times instead of 1 to jailbreak my iPhone. Damn I'm so l33t!

it was alot more then 5 times there champ. you had to restore the entire device and the before the gui's were released you had to do it via a command prompt.
