Can't get anything done while wating for the video. Tried to do my homework but my thoughts are... You know where. God i hate my self. :D

I'm waiting until my Time Machine backup is finished. Xcode 4.5 GM is huge, as always. :[}

don't mean to spoil anything, but people earlier were saying that this was one of the longer keynotes so maybe that is why it is taking this much longer.....bigger file = longer upload time

Probably so they can edit out anything that doesn't go according to plan. I remember a few years back when they had the issue with too many ppl using wifi so the were having difficulty showcasing the iphone's internet browsing capabilities.

Everyone thought it was funny, if that's why they stopped doing it, I suggest them to set up separate WiFis and call it a day.

Jesus, just stream it live already, only the forgiving geeks (mainly) are watching either way and the "ooops reporters" press sits there either way.

Wow, how could I forget that? However, I think what they're mainly editing is so that we get to see the videos they show in full screen and things like that!

They should stream it live for the many who want to see it right away and then post the keynote later on polished the way they like it. Most ppl who are hardcore enough to want to watch the keynote don't care about the editing they want to see it live. The one's that could stand to wait likely don't care to sit through a 2 hr presentation. They'd just rather see the couple minute video or look at photos or ads.

I bet the internet connection from where ever Apple update their website/post keynotes is super super fast, so I don't think it's that... Maybe the time to edit the keynote slides into the video? Who knows...

Another 21 minutes for me, then bed and an early morning to watch it :eek:

No!!! cause the duration of Apple's special event which was held on June 11 2012 was also +/- 2 hours. And it was online in like one hour/2 hours... very fast... why not now???

I say this every time: it takes longer than you think to get these things online and ready for tens of thousands (if not more) people to INSTANTLY download/stream these files!

I used to work at a company that specialized in turning content around for clients for online streaming. It would (on average) take us three times the length of the file to actually post the file publicly. So a 5 minute video would take 15 minutes to post but a 2 hour file (like this keynote) would take a full 6 hours to post. There are a lot of steps involved, it is much more difficult than pushing a single button.

That having been said: we were a small company of five employees and I am quite sure Apple can afford more expensive equipment then we could.

But again: These things take time, be patient! The event has only been done for about two hours now. As much as you want it to your life DOESN'T (or SHOULDN'T) revolve around watching this video. Be patient and/or move on with your life.

Guys, please. After this you'll be shocked.

Fight.

Club.

Now report me, arrest me, do whatever you want. I just couldn't resist. Who wants to talk about it?

Laudable remarks, but not really useful in a thread where the SOLE purpose is to watch a spoiler-free keynote... ;)
