It's a box. How does it matter in the slightest? I'll never understand.

Apple packaging is always as well designed as the product itself, and its very fun to open it for the first time and appreciate all its little details.

if you dont understand that, get out of the thread.

Is that the cheapest make/looking box that ANY $1000 watch has ever been sold to the public in?

I've bought watches in the past with nicer packaging that cost under $100

It's certainly not the type of beautiful presentation box one would consider your loved one being impressed with as it was opened, and a nice keepsake.

I guess I could almost accept this for the sport, it's actually too cheap for that tbh, but for the normal watch, its embarrassing, and must be all of $1 worth :(

Certainly now what I would of thought given the "Fashion/Style" front they wish to portray, and nothing like a normal quality proper watch box.

Agreed. While I like a minimalist approach, this is very poor for a watch. As you said , I think that case is embarrassing for a sports edition, let alone the apple edition. At very least they should have had a case that is secure for travel purposes.

Something along the lines of this would be more appropriate for a $1k plus watch.

That color scheme is very 70's. And that's a very generic watch box in terms of design. It's plush, but really I have received far cheaper watches in boxes of that ornate plush styling so I'm not really all that excited by that style of box.

Apple on the other hand seems to have gone IKEA on us with their box style. I'm fine with the clean lines and minimalism and appearance of limited environmental impact but clearly others here aren't. Though that purported Sport case is a bit of a slab. I'm hoping it is just the combination of the lens and the extreme closeup making it look a bit like an autopsy slab in miniature.

It wouldn't be very useful as both a box AND a charging station. Which is why the Edition isn't in a box like the Tag box. I have one of those. It's nice, but not suitable for a smart watch.

I really don't understand the issue with the box.

I mean I understand the AW is expensive and other manufacturers use fancy expensive boxes, but at the end of the day it's a box. And most people will throw it away.

Why would Apple design a super fancy box that was expensive for a cheap product when more expensive products, MacBook, iPhones, etc have that same style of box?
Apple need to keep with their packaging style for most products. Now the Edition, that might justify a super nice box but frankly for the Sport and SS a cheap cardboard non-wasteful box is ideal.

Potential pictures of Apple Sports Watch box?

These were posted last night in the 4/24 - 5/8 delivery thread and come from a Chinese forum. You guys think they are fake? It seems like the boxes would be absurdly long if real especially compared to the Apple Watch SS box we have already seen.

I would think the long box is a strap, maybe steel ?

I was thinking that was possible too especially because doesn't say Sport. Even then would seem much longer then need be which doesn't align with Apple's minimal packaging.

These look to be packaging boxes for the individual packages of Apple Watch Sport. The picture definitely seems real; I'm guessing there are small clear plastic boxes inside of each long box which contain individual Watches.

I was thinking that may be possible as well.
