I truly hate Spotify as a company. They're so slow and when they implement something new it is often mediocre. I really enjoy Apple Music's sound quality and intergration into the HomePod. But the ability to look up user-made playlists on Spotify, their UI and their Discover Weekly is keeping me at Spotify.
Apple isn’t charging you for universal control, and Apple explicitly said on their website that the feature was delayed.well even apple itself doesn't offer universal control after 6 months so.....
Time for everyone to leave them they don’t deliver, Apple Music is much better
Sure, but I only have one Echo (it came free with an Eero 3-pack)! I do use Apple music on it, but as it's not Airplay 2 compatible, I can't use it to get room to room continuity. And the Echo's all support Apple Music natively, so if you have a bunch of Echos in your house, you can group them together and play Apple Music with your voice on multiple speaker at once. (Not the same as AirPlay 2, but at least it accomplishes part of that goal for people all-in on Echo.)
Spotify is great. I tried a Apple Music trial twice and was canceling it within days. I couldn’t use the whole trial as Apple Music is so unsatisfying. I feel so bad using Apple Music App.It’s like Spotify is asking us to use Apple Music.
HomePod Mini is still HomePod and is selling well. Why supporting HomePod? Apple doesn’t even sell it anymore. It is just a niche product.
Spotify is a great music streaming service. The number of customers is confirming that
Well, Spotify has Spotify Connect. If you wanna stream Music on multiple speakers you can do it easily on Sonos, Bose, Teufel, B&O,…The main new feature of AirPlay 2 is the ability to stream from an app to multiple speakers simultaneously.
Maybe they don't see it as necessary - but they clearly did when they announced that they were working to bring the feature to their app.
But HomePod Mini is like Echo Dot. It is not about listening music. It is more of a smart speaker. Maybe Spotify focuses more on Music Speaker thant small Smart SpeakersHomePod Mini is still HomePod and is selling well.
I want to. My daughter doesn't. What drives me crazy now is that Spotify skips (probably due to being stuck on Airplay 1) when playing on my homepods. it's inconsistent, but no other audio from my phone skips. If they don't address in 6 months, I'm probably switching.Time for everyone to leave them they don’t deliver, Apple Music is much better
I don't see that happening anytime soon either. I think they first mentioned the possibility of it years ago and brought it up again when Apple released theirs. It's getting a bit ridiculous.Also... what about Spotify Hi-Fi tier that was also long promised?
Nobody asked for your opinion either, but that's how the internet works. Don't be surprised if someone replies to you in a forum made specifically for discussion.Thanks. I didn’t ask.
This is exactly how I feel. Spotify is extremely slow with launching updates and supporting new features. It took them far too long to support offline playback on Apple Watch. But I can't quit them just yet because their playlists and recommendations are just that much better than Apple. I also really enjoy Spotify Wrapped and wished Apple had something similar, the shortcuts trick pales in comparison. So yeah, until they royally mess something up, I'm right there with you.I'm unhappy with a few things about Spotify, but I also find that they do some things better than other music streaming services.
I'm not happy with everything Spotify is doing, but they would have to f8ck up a lot more than they do to make me switch to Apple Music.
HomePod Mini blows Echo Dot out of the water. I have a stereo pair of them in my office and they sounds fantastic. Not as good obviously as the vastly more expensive HomePods, but compared to an Echo Dot, it's night and day.But HomePod Mini is like Echo Dot. It is not about listening music. Apple still hasn't bothered to release any version of Homepod in my country. Should I hate them as a company because of that? No, not really. They're a company. They don't care whether I love or hate them. They do whatever they want because they have their reasons and my opinions don't count for anything.I truly hate Spotify as a company. But it isn’t. And that’s the problem.Time for everyone to leave them they don’t deliver, Apple Music is much better
This is the problem. Spotify does some things really well, like what you outlined above, but then it does some things really bad.B
But it isn’t. And that’s the problem.
Apple doesn’t have “discover weekly”, “release radar”, daily playlists, etc. Until it has some decent smart playlists like those that help you discover new music, I’m not interested.
And Spotify Connect is pretty much flawless. Airplay? Erm… no.
Which is not unique to AirPlay2. The problem is, everyone has their own technology: Spotify Connect, Chromecast, AirPlay, there are others. In a consumer-centric world, there would be one all-encompassing standard. But there isn't. And let's be honest, any audio equipment worth its salt supports a bunch of them. Hell, my 10 year old budget Denon receiver does.
If you use Spotify, you already have choices within the App for casting, including multicasting. Hence my previous message: This is manufactured rage over a margin feature.
