I got the UAG Plasma case--it was $39.95 at the Sprint dealer. I chose it over the Speck case, which I had on my Pixel, because it felt better, slipped in the pocket easier and looked much cooler

I gave in the last minute and upgraded (8 plus) my husband and I iPhone last Thursday. They gave me a date shipment between Oct. 1-8. Received an email maybe a hour ago from Sprint stating we’re reviving our phones tomorrow. Didn’t anticipate the arrival this soon giving Im usually one of the early 3am preordering queen. Tired from work and being busy I really didn’t for the first time watch the keynote or read up on the new phone until Last Thursday. Luckily, I gave Sprint my job address like every year so I don’t have to stalk my door. Surprising my nephew with this upgrade so I have 3 Gold 64gb Xs Max.
XsMAX on Sprint here. The Lack of Data LTE signal strength is a major issue. My S8+ Samsung has better LTE reception.

Yep having issues as well , any idea how to fix it?!? Would calling sprint fix the issues with the signal strength

Yes I read an article saying the Xs and XsMAX have the weakest RF signal of any phone.
Add me to the list of signal strength issues.
My work has poor reception but I was able to get sites to load on my X. Now the the Xs Max I cant get anything to load. Disappointed to say the least. Hopefully there can be some kind of fix.
If not, I may have to return it because this is terrible.

Same here. My old S8 Plus Galaxy has better reception. However my XsMAX even with 1 Bar is useable where as my S8 Plus was not.
In the back of a Grocery store I always shop my S8 Plus could make a call. My XsMAX can not.
However on the train. In places my S8 Plus has No Data, my XsMAX does get Data even if it’s very weak. And it’s useable.
It’s a trade off The difference of Ann Intel Model vs. Qualcomm Modems
This signal situation sucks! When is the last day we can return our phone if we bought on launch day?
This Friday I think. Usually 14 day return window.
I really don’t want to because I love the screen size but it’s useless if I can’t get sites to load.
I just got a XS Max today from Sprint. In the house I’m just getting 2 bars but there’s no problem streaming videos or music.
Did a few carrier resets but no change in the signal indicator.
Not having a problem with calls.
I’ll hold on until any problems arise. Possibly could be a firmware fix or software fix. So far I’m not having a problem doing what I have to do.

Firmware can't fix hardware is been tested and proven that in lower level signal areas the new iPhones have more trouble than others holding signal. Also bars are not an accurate representation of signal.. DB noise levels are.
If you really want to see your real signal strength do this open up the Dialer Keypad in Phone and dial this:
*3001#12345#*
Hit the call button then choose LTE from the menu that pops up. Then select serving cell meas..this will show the info your looking for. Your will be presented with this and screen:
Rsp0 is the tower you're currently connected to rsp1 is the backup tower.
Now what do the numbers mean well here are the ranges:
-90-and higher excellent
-91--105 good
-106--120 fair
-121--124 poor
-125 no signal
Software patches maybe able to help mitigate issues by increasing antenna gain but will never completely fix hardware and design flaws.

I was having this same issue and finally after chatting with Sprint they did something on their end and now it seems like the phone is getting better LTE connection. I’ll have to test it some more to see if it actually is fixed.
Well a sad day here. Sprint iPhone XsMAX basically no reception. Pretty horrible.
Going back to my S8+
Too many annoying Signal issues. I can’t deal with a device that fails at being a Phone.

After trying to talk myself out of upgrading for the last week, I pulled the trigger today and got the XS Max 256 GB in Space Gray.
I went from the 7 + 128 GB and although I have only had the phone for less than 8 hours, I have purposely driven into areas where my 7 + struggled to get reception at all through Sprint.
So far, the phone is working in areas that my previous IPhone did not and I have also not experienced any WIFI issues. Of course, it's probably too early to tell one way or the other but I do find it a little weird that my XS Max will actually work (2 bars and doesn't fly by any means) in these previously "dead areas".
Hopefully, Apple will get this figured out soon for everyone who is unable to enjoy their new phones.

Just ordered an Xs since I found out sprint offers a zero payment lease for 18 months. Figured that might carry me through to almost 5G time. I figured that I wouldn't have to wait long since most seem to be shipping fairly soon on the apple site. I'll see, it processing right not
Spoke to soon. They disabled it on the latest Beta. Option is still there but doesn’t keep LTE when making a call. Sucks because it was working flawlessly.
I thought I read somewhere that Sprint was rolling this out only on the Samsung note 9 for now but that eventually it would be rolled out completely. I could be wrong though.
