SPRINT iPhone 5 PRE-ORDER thread!!

For all of you who pre-ordered the iPhone 4S with Sprint last year, what day did you get your tracking info? How many days before release?

I want to say we got our tracking information for the 4S on Tuesday or Wednesday but my gut is pointing me more towards Wednesday.

But aren't we supposed to be getting it Friday? Why update it the day of? It can't travel from China in 1 day.

Last year, our 4S phones were housed in a warehouse in Kentucky. From there, they were overnight shipped to their destinations. As far as I know, the only phones coming from China are phones ordered directly from Apple.
I see. And one more question, was your bill paid for instead of paying for the phone? I'm confused with the payment with Sprint. >.> My phone was $262 and it paid $250 of my bill.
Sprint takes any order and applies it to your account as a payment. For some strange reason, they don't separate it. Simply pay your bill as usual and once the phone ships, you'll see everything come back to normal.
It's a bit confusing, I know.
If the bill isn't paid by the date it's supposed to be (9/18/12 for me) will they cancel my pre-order?
That I can't tell you. Probably should call Sprint directly on that one. I see where you're going with it though due to the fact that you paid for your phone but maybe that money will be put towards your bill. Something tells me the answer is "no" but I'd still verify with Sprint just in case.

I ordered at 1:00 AM PST but they placed my order on hold because they wanted to verify certain things about my credit. I called in the morning at 7:00 AM PST and they approved me for 5 lines no deposit. Am I in trouble to have it by friday since they put a hold on my order?

Even though it looks like it's all lumped into the same bucket, I'm pretty sure they have it separated by bill payment and orders. I don't think they would snag your money to pay your bill when it was clearly put towards a purchase, and an iPhone 5 no less. But again, I'm not 100% sure because I don't know how Sprint handles their business. I'm only speaking on my own logic and what I think is the case.

Everyone is pretty much in a holding pattern right now. We won't know for sure when the phone is coming until tracking numbers start going out. It's safe to say that the people who ordered closest to the pre-order start are going to get it on the 21st. Best thing to do is call Sprint and confirm that you are scheduled to be delivered on the 21st. If not, just wait for your tracking number or any updates to your account.

This doesn't mean it's on hold. It just means the order is processed. We most likely won't get our tracking info until anywhere in between Wednesday and Friday.
Good good good. I'm glad you guys got your issues sorted out and questions answered. Now on to the painstaking process of waiting for Friday!
This is so bad. I'm in 2nd period at school and I have an AP Government test next period. Glad to know my iPhone is more important. -.- *sarcasm*

According to the message I got from a Sprint Rep any orders (and Im assuming they meant 32Gb or 64GB) placed up through 9/18 would be received by 9/21.
Yeah. The message stating the noon thing was only for 16GB. They went the fastest. I wish I had the extra $50 to get the 32GB.
Just giving everyone a heads up, according to what happened last year with the 4S pre-orders.
I pre-ordered my 4S at 6:35AM on October 7, 2011. At 9:40PM on October 10, 2011, I got the email telling me they've processed the order and supplied me with a tracking number.
So if they follow the same protocol as last year, that means our next email should hopefully come tonight, complete with tracking number.
But then again, with the number of orders this time around, it might take a little longer.

I pre-ordered my 4S at 6:35AM on October 7, 2011. At 9:40PM on October 10, 2011, I got the email telling me they've processed the order and supplied me with a tracking number.

Last year for the 4s, all 16g iPhones entered the system in Louisville, KY where both UPS has their US hub and Sprint has a distribution center. "Package shipped" e-mails and update on the UPS site starting showing up at 12:01 a.m. the Wednesday before delivery. I'm expecting the same this year.

I also remember getting my tracking number on Monday last year. Fingers crossed.
