Ordered a 6s 64gb space gray...says "We will do our best to deliver by 9/25"
Also got a 64gb 6s plus space grey, and got "Up to 4 weeks from your order date"

How did everyone get around the activation fees and tax? I see some people say they paid nothing at checkout.

Activation fee tacked on to the first bill but I also have a discount with Kroger and I just got sprint 2 days ago and was told that when I pre ordered I would not have to pay for anything under the iPhone forever plan

Thanks for the replies, the first person via telesales said he'd wave them but he's the one that was supposed to call me back when order processing was back up and he still hasn't called despite me already making the order online. Oh well I can deal with that later. Thanks everyone!

I got one order in. Thanks for the tip on refreshing cache that did the trick.

Next question. Has anyone did iPhone forever turned in an older phone, like a Samsung Replenish which is technically a smartphone. I have it laying around and it works, I'd prefer to keep my 6plus since I paid for it outright. Makes no sense to give them a 1k phone to get a 7$ discount but is glady turn over the Samsung.

I decided to skip this iPhone version but I did enjoy the fun - I pre-ordered my sisters iPhone 6s plus in 128g rose gold under the iphone forever plan

Hopefully this is legit.

Got tired of dealing with Sprint's site when the system went live. So I tried ordering through Apple for the very first time. It was quick and easy. I just hope that the contract/upgrade eligibility will reset to 9/11 in 2 years, in time for future pre-ordering.

Ugh, I wish iPhone preordering was as easy as the 5S years ago. I was asleep by 3:05 AM that year.

Anyway, I was able to get myself a iPhone 6SPlus 64 GB Rose Gold off the Apple Store with delivery by the 25th. I used my upgrade and everything worked great.

My sister also had an upgrade available, we're on the same account, same plan, etc. But for some reason Apple didn't say she has an upgrade available. She did though. Her 2 years went up in March. So I reserved a phone for her at 8AM at the Apple Store. 30 Minutes later I realize everyone is going to be working on the 25th at 8AM. So I did another reservation for her phone for 4:30 PM. And then I ended up doing a reservation for a 64GB Rose gold plus. I figured, if I can get my phone on the Apple iphone program, that would be awesome.

Does anyone know if Apple will truly hold phones if you have a reservation? I have 3 reservations right now, and 1 phone being shipped.

I would've done the same but I'm on the iPhone forever plan and the Apple site doesn't support upgrading with that. Sprints website didn't let orders go through until 5am Eastern.

I didn't seem to have any issues...woke up around 4AM Pacific...and ordered online via Sprint website. Received an email saying the order is processing so I guess anything can still go wrong...
6S+ 64GB up to 4 weeks...I am not in a hurry so not worried about that.

Currently on family and signed up for iPhone forever...going to contact them later on today about the upgrade/activation fee getting waived...

Some math to consider:

7 x 12 = $84

As appealing as this discounted plan is, we have to remember that $15/mo is an introductory rate that requires a trade in for existing customers. So AFTER you upgrade (most likely 12mo from now) then in the end your savings end and now we've turned in a perfectly functional smartphone for a temporary savings of... $84.

iPhone Forever is GOOD for:
- New customers (trade in not required if you're new)
- Existing Easy Pay customers because you haven't paid off your phone yet
- People who plan on sticking with this phone for a long long time
- People who were planning on trading in anyway (Some Framily users had a free upgrade)
- People with a drawer full of qualifying trade in devices that they were never going to use

iPhone Forever is BAD for:
- iPhone users who could sell that thing for 3x more
- People who plan on upgrading early

For me, I'm 12mo deep on an Easy Pay iPhone 6+ which means I have $460 balance. While I could make money by buying it out and selling it, the profit wouldn't be very significant. So trading in an iPhone 6+ is a convenience.

Alright so I didn't realize that my contract ends on 10/1. I was due for a upgrade but didn't see the option of buying with 2 year contract as that was grayed out. So I ended up buying full price for 64gb that came out to $789. So would my best thing to do is cancel the order from this morning and wait till my contact expires and get the phone subsidized which would be $299 I believe. Maybe I'm thinking this wrong but I'm grandfathered in so no matter what my monthly bill is $55 a month for unlimited everything. I'm paying almost $800 for a phone outright but can renew contract for $300. That's 500 bucks right there. Monthly contract doesn't go up or down whether I own phone or not. Let me know guys.

So, what is the consensus here?

Did Sprint's site fall flat again (even if you had to use it instead of Apple)? If you could have used Apple's site but used Sprint's site instead would you do the same the next time?

And is anyone really surprised that ships dates from Sprint's site are either "We'll try" or "in 4 weeks"?

I know some of you said it's just a phone and you can wait, but why preorder at midnight for a phone on launch day if you are ok with waiting that long? I mean in a week or two you can just walk in to an Apple/Sprint store and get one right then. Those that have four weeks to wait would still be waiting.

And who thinks that 4 week date won't slip?

If your contract isnt going up and you dont plan on leaving Sprint within 2 years, then its a no brainer to do the contract option. I also initially paid for a phone in full but cancelled it in favor of a contract. I'll save $140 over the course of the 2 years and it looks like you will be saving even more

Yes, the site was bad. I would rather be able to order from apple.com with the complete menu of options offered by my carrier. I think most people would. Att's site choked too but Apple just doesn't offer a complete set of options.

Regardless of the safe language used by Sprint, I doubt there will be any delays specific to Sprint. Sprint orders will show up the same times as orders from other carriers. I've preordered from them in the past and despite saying "we'll try" my wife and I had our iPhones on launch day.

Think I got lucky when I ordered...no issues at all. But it was a few hours after midnight.

I've done Sprint pre-orders in the past...most recently the 5S. Got the phone on launch day. I don't expect a 4 week wait but if it is I won't lose any sleep over it. I guess I could search around launch day but i'd rather not be bothered. Most likely I would've waited a few weeks to try and pick up in store anyways..

So I switched to Sprint last year on their "iPhone for Life" plan. Am I able to upgrade early? It's telling me that I'm not eligible for another year. Do I need to pay off the rest of my lease?

Yes. Once you pay it off you become immediately upgrade eligible.
