Will do and compare with my series 4 space black. Please let us know how it looks
The space black stainless had a coating applied that was pretty much scratch resistant. It’s what gave it it’s space black color. What do DLC and PVD mean?
You’re right but only for the 40mm size, 44mm is not available in Space Black Stainless regardless of which edition.Actually! It’s around! But Hermés only! Hahaha
Looks like the same. I hope so

DLC doesn’t seem like it’s more scratch resistant it is in fact way more scratch resistant than PVD. Have had my Series 4 Space Black for over 2 years and not a single scratch or scuff! Whereas I’ve heard people owning PVD coated watches complaining about frayed edges and scratches with only a little over a year of use.Diamone like carbon coating vs. physical vapor deposition. DLC is actually a type of PVD, and, in Apple's case, their DLC coating seems more scratch resistant than their regular PVD coating.

Space gray, black, space black, graphite, etc... It’s just marketing. Technically is the same carbon-based coating, a micrometer layer, applied by different techniques and on different metals. From a material’s point of view, both Al and Ti are neat metals, it means they are softer, being Al the most ductile, and the coating gets inherently a more mate finish so it can be seen as more black. Stainless steel is an alloy of Fe/C with low Ni and Cr contents to be protected from general corrosion, it is harder and more shiny so the final aspect after the same coating process is a more grey-like color. My opinion is that the difference between graphite and space black in stainless steel versions from previous models should be very, very subtle and I am educated guessing the Hermes version is the same. Again, just marketing.

Not true ... I ordered the Hermès 44mm Space Black Stainless:You’re right but only for the 40mm size, 44mm is not available in Space Black Stainless regardless of which edition.
It’s not the best video but tucked in to the videos on the MR homepage is one that shows the SS graphite series 6. It looks to be a little lighter and more obviously grey than the old SSSB, on the video at least.
The Forbes reviews has a good picture![]()
Came here to post this. Bummer, it’s more of a difference than I was hoping for. It’s almost closer to being shiny space grey. The Forbes reviews has a good picture![]()
I mean it's much lighter.Good find. Graphite S6 vs SpaceBlack S5.
Love to see folks guess which is which before going to the article to find out.
I mean it's much lighter.
Looks to me like the watch sides are reflecting two different backgrounds due to angle differences.
Looking at the corner of each, the difference is less apparent.
