Stainless steel replacement backing for iPhone 4?

I'm looking for anyone that ordered theirs from cnn.cn

I ordered my backplate on the 28th of October. On the 6th of November I was informed by usps that there was a tracking number and it said it was in foreign dispatch and had left hong kong.

It has said that same exact message with no updates at all to this day.


I was wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem with them? It's been 12 business days now and I was told it would be here in up to 10.

It will get there, it just takes a while. I received mine today, and I love it. No problems whatsoever!
 
Mine just arrived today, and they sent along a free screen protector that said sorry for the wait on the packaging

Ill post some pics once I get it installed, but I won't be able to until I get home for thanksgiving

It does seem really cheaply made though, although the back was cold to the touch from being outside like metal, it really doesn't seem like its actually metal. The inside is plastic, and the outside seems more metallic than actual metal

I'm worried about losing the screws like the person on here said they did because of how loose it was

Sorry but I disagree 100% having bought one and installed it on my iPhone. They are very well made especially for the cheap price. I don't notice any signal issues or camera problems and it adds VERY little bulk. Honestly for 18 dollars it's worth buying and trying out and if you don't like the look take it off. I would post pictures but I am currently not near a camera sorry.
 
Bought one of these flat backed metal cover replacements from eBay:

The plastic used to cover the camera lens affected the quality of my pictures somewhat, adding small bit of haloing and blurriness. There was no vignetting though. It was not at all magnetic, which was my original desire in order to stick those magnet-backed lenses.

I did have a distinct impression that it made my reception much worse, I could barely get a ping time on speedtest.net on 3G under 500 ms and had absolutely no data transmission. Not wanting to mess with the reliability of my phone before a short trip, I put the original cover back. Will have to try the new cover again some time soon, as the look is rather nice.

Not as bad as the vaporware thread but how can anyone defend a product that ruins the main function of a phone

I'm still waiting on mine, and will give it an honest chance, but if it kills my reception in the slightest its going immediately in the trash.

DAMN I BOUGHT THE SAME ONE!

Oh well I will try it out and see what happens.. Thank you for the feedback
 
Just received mine today. I bought the flat back ones. So far, I don't really have issue with the reception but cannot take pictures with the flash on. The picture totally washed out. I also bought the black one but it didn't comes yet .I'll let you guys know about the flash issues once I receive it.The last picture is of the flash in action:(.

i ordered the same one and also the beveled, this one seem to affected the signal and wifi, i had to put back the orginal. The beveled seem to be ok,no camera issue but signal seem to loose one bar( not all the time).

I don't have any problem with signal or wifi, just the flash issue. Cannot take pictures at all with flash on.

The tracking info is useless until it hits either San Francisco or the major distribution center in your area.
cnn.cn is reliable, I have received 2 shipments from them.

A co-worker has one. The beveled is sharp looking.
the bevel is very very minor but adds a nice touch to it.
I have 5 of the flat backs but ordered 2 bevelled after seeing it.
 
I'm loving the aluminum look :) At these prices it's a must have I think. Switching the back panel is even easier then some cases out there..

Did you notice if there was a piece of plastic covering the flash hole on the inside of the back housing? That looks like what is happening to yours. I would remove the back and check to see if it's there and remove it.

I removed all the plastic covering when I first put it on. I think the flash problem is that the inside area around the flash and camera is silver color. I just painted it black with a permanent marker and it helps a little bit. Also I just received a black back today and the flash problem is still there but not as extreme.
