For a premium tier watch at over $1k I would have really hoped they had these produced as quickly as possible. Not saying because it's more expensive I'm better than anyone, but I preordered a $1000 product the second it went on sale and it's been over a month and I'm still waiting... I hate to say it but as a long time supporter of Apple I feel like this would have never happened with Steve Jobs still running the show, or at least it would have been communicated better. I would appreciate something offered at the next keynote like a free band or something for people who preordered and had to wait way passed the "release day"

Kind of like the $100 bone they threw us iPhone 1 early adopters after almost immediately dropping the price of the next wave of the same watch

They gave those free bumpers to iphone 4 users because of the antenna issue. I would really love to see them offer a free sport band to those who waited over a month to receive a pre ordered watch. Those bands might be worth like $5 at cost, would be nothing to lose for them practically...

For a wait you knew of in adavance? Makes no sense

The charge for Apple Care mysteriously showed again as pending on my CC just now. It was first there on April 10, then disappeared after maybe 10 days, and is back on there now. I have a June delivery, so I doubt it is any indication of shipping. Any ideas as to when and how often they try a pending charge?

Why would they owe us anything? We bought the thing knowing that the window for delivery was 5/13-5/27 or later. It was our choice to wait. Apple owe us nothing. Watch the hockey game and relax.

I never said they were obligated to, and yes I know what the shipping estimate was when I purchased. But they never said in the original keynot that certain models would be delayed over a month after release day. When I woke up in the middle of the night to pre order it was with the idea that I would be receiving it upon launch day. I have every right to be disappointed because they had production issues, for a company that has the insane net worth like they do, they should be more prepared for a product launch as big as this. Especially for a brand new product. Delays leave customers with a bad taste in their mouths and frustration. I honestly was so hyped for this thing and at this point I'm almost so annoyed waiting for it that I have lost almost all that hype.

Mine got charged a few minutes ago, as well. Hoping it's a good sign.

Exactly.

Like I've said before: we all know the estimated shipping date before we clicked 'complete purchase'. Giving us something free because Apple is sticking with their original shipping dates that we were fully aware of when we bought the item? I mean, I'm all for free stuff, but there's zero reason to do that.

Edit:
I see your follow-up post, and you make some decent points. I still don't see it as a gesture that has any strong merit despite the initial disappointment most of us had at 'June? Ah, crap. Oh well.'

Well said. Money talks, and if they wanted to they could've thrown more at any production issue and found a way to get the product in the waiting customers' hands. They're not obligated to because yes, they told us when we placed the order it would take longer, but it's all about keeping your customers happy.

The fact that they know they can let this happen and we'll all sit back and just anxiously wait because we're "fanboys" is part of the problem. They know they have one of the most loyal groups of fans, and they capitalize on that by not doing what other companies often feel the need to do in order to keep customers happy. Ultimately, we did it to ourselves I suppose.

Trying not to complain, just voicing long-standing opinions.

Not rly unless u were rly early. A lot of us got a generic June date and apple telling us orders would come early

Yeah, agreed. I'm sure my watch will eventually ship this week, but its especially frustrating seeing others that bought the exact same watch as me within minutes and will be getting theirs tomorrow.

Checking in again

XX:03 Confirmation 42mm - USA - Las Vegas
No Charge or Changes - hang in there my friends

I'm here in Vegas too (though July). There an extra plane tonight en route, with one headed to CA and four to KY. Maybe that CA plane will pick up some more of the west coast orders. I haven't had time to follow the other threads to see if the same band updates multiple days in a row, but we can hope!

I know this is a TOTAL long shot, but did any July shipments go out? Ordered in the 04/10

Do you think we will get them sooner??!!

How likely (or unlikely) is it for us to go from processing, skipping the preparing to ship status change, and directly to shipping? I'm an :02 that was charged at 7am in northern cal today and I'm stuck at processing. Just curious about anyone's opinion? Thanks! 🙂

They are literally, pre-order time wise, only 4-5 minutes into the pre-orders.

Us June/July'ers have a little bit of time..

I ordered at 03 Conf email at 04 and still nothing. I'm hoping fingers crossed I'll get some charge sometime tonight into tomorrow. I'm off all day so I know I won't be able to sleep. I'm just so excited and hoping I see something. Wondering when they usually start charging? Around midnight? Earlier? Any clues as to when? I'm guessing it's just whenever and no specific times.

Actually, Apple skipped most of the 12:03-12:30 crowd with this model. :apple:

Many June/July estimates are already shipping, meanwhile May 13-27 people are still waiting.
