Hi everybody. This is my very first post in MacRumors; I've been a silent reader of this thread for some weeks.
I want to share that my confirmation email was received at X:16 but I haven't been charged. I know that some x:17 already are happily wearing their watches, but its not my case. No PFS, no charge, no notification :(.
So maybe not every x:16 order have been dispatched (at least, mine!).
BTW, it's great to read you all.

Yeah, this just underscores a point I've made before that there could be a difference on when your order was placed vs. the timestamp of the confirmation email you received. Those two events, while related to one another, are not the same thing. The email timestamp is really just a rough approximation of where you are 'in line'.

Very frustrating that you get the same delivery date if you order today that I have that ordered April 22 :-(
Agreed. I made an initial order right at store opening on April 10 for the regular SS with link bracelet. I changed that order on April 18 and got the July window. I feel like I have been waiting as long as anyone even though my actual order date is April 18.

Are you in the US? Only US orders are at the beginning of xx:17 orders

It's an US order. I'm not in the US, but it was placed in the US store. I also ordered a SS modern buckle for my wife which we received a couple of weeks ago.
Did you have it shipped outside the US? That could also be a factor.

No. For Apple is just another order. US card, US store, US shipping address. I purchased a 38mm SSBS (delivered already), a 38mm SSMB (already delivered) and the 42mm SBSS, which is killing me softly.

The e-mail confirmation time stamp isn't a precise indication of sequence in the order queue, but it's the only measure that we have (flawed though it is). Your order would have been placed after those few :17's that already shipped.

So there's something I don't understand.

Apparently, Apple ships batches weekly, right? So this last week was xx:17, this week might be up xx:30 or something, etc.

I don't see how this makes sense. If you were to place an order right now, you'd be quoted somewhere in mid July, right? So wouldn't that mean that within the next five weeks, Apple would have to somehow ship enough to cover all of the orders from the first July order to now? Unless we start seeing serious movement, like weeks instead of just minutes, I'm kinda worried.

On the other hand, if they DO start shipping by weeks instead of minutes, I have a feeling a lot of us July people will get ours in June.

Yeah it's going to have to pick up soon. It would be helpful to figure out when it made the switch to July. My confirmation email came at 4:59am EST, so I guess X1:59, and I'm a June, USA

We have absolutely zero visibility into Apple's current stock levels, production schedules and what their demand plan look like. I'm hoping they give some granular sales numbers at WWDC, so we can all have some idea as to how all of this played out around launch, but even then, we won't really know what Quanta (their manufacturing partner) has in terms of production capabilities. Can they produce 50,000 watches a week? 200,000? Anyone's guess. They'll have their production schedule setup to meet their demand plan (their anticipated future orders). Our orders (and any other backlog) will be a priority, as they want to have them eliminated before they make stock available in stores. (Even then, they may roll out limited availability in stores - the few watch types still backlogged may not be available until they're caught up).

If it's just the SB SS and the SGS 42mm's that are still backlogged, everything else could be available in stores very soon.

Consider that the sales of the first day may be higher than the sales of all the other days combined. There are some estimations that say Apple sold around 2 million watches on 4/10, and an average of 30 thousand every day after that.
Looking at the sales of 4/10 alone, it is possible to understand that in the first couple hours, Apple could sell as many units as they did during the rest of the day.
In other words, if Apple is sending a "standard" number of watches every week (I doubt it), they will be covering larger order time intervals with each wave.
So, I don't think you should worry about it. Things should get better.

What will really be interesting to see is if once it is known that the watches are available at Apple retail stores, whether or not there is high demand, with lines forming...... I am guessing that there are a lot of people who for whatever reason chose not to order online but who, if looking at a particular combo of watch and band in the store and learning that it was available right then and there for purchase, would go ahead and buy. Also those who learn about availability in the stores and then rush over to grab the watch of their heart's desire.

It's likely that they'll be able to ramp up production as they move through the first few hours, and we'll see hours being covered at a time very soon. The first few batches only covered a couple minutes at a time, and the most recent was over 10. They'll hopefully have a bigger batch serving a less crowded time frame, so hopefully it jumps a lot

Has anyone seen another Apple Watch in the wild? I have seen only the one my wife has. I have yet to see one on someone else, not looking that hard mind you, but still. I am in NYC, I am an attorney running from borough to borough making Court appearances and have not seen on other than the one I am now wearing. Also, I am perplexed with the amount of issues each of these shipments have had coming from China. I have had numerous Apple products shipped from China and have not seen any issues. Although my watch was delivered earlier than the June 3 Apple estimate prior to shipping, it arrived on June 1, changing a couple of times to "no information" and going back to June 1, but there were nearly twenty entries from China, to Alaska, to Kentucky. With all of the double entries, mechanical problems with the plane, customs issues, they completely missed the arrival scan and went straight to Out for Delivery.

My order got updated from the vague June date to June 22-June 26. It's still processing though.

Yeah mine too. X1:59 order confirmation time

Your order time makes me think you'd be in the next batch though. I hope it doesn't take that long for them to send out another batch so I'd think you would have to get yours sooner than that

Yeah I think the order is going through an automatic process of giving out a date range.
