If an Apple rep rang my doorbell right now and asked if I'd like to take a standard SS link watch tonight, I'd be very tempted. Anyone else?

Instead of the Black? Nope.. If I was going to change it would have been back in the first days when it was obvious that the SB had a longer wait than some others.

I didnt then because a few weeks difference will be forgotten once Ive had my watch for a while, but wearing one different to what I wanted will be obvious every time I look at my wrist.

Trust me, I feel the same way. I've been wanting this since they announced it (maybe even before), so the wait is hard for me too. But I know what I ordered, and so I should have to wait for the time that was clearly relayed to me by Apple.

That's my point Exactly.....Apple did not, and has not relayed the times the watch will ship. They provided a window...that I accepted. Then, they shipped what they had available. Their times offered were no reflection of when they would deliver. I may as well have bought a lottery ticket.

See I just don't get that. They told you the delivery window, but you're still saying you don't know the timeframe of when it will be delivered. Are you saying that you wanted an exact date from the start?

I'm saying, the dates they offered at the time of order, and continued to offer, don't reflect the times they will ship. Great that some who received a June or July estimate received their watches early. Not great that you think you entered a queue that did not reflect the earliest shipping window. I ordered a SS watch and 3 different bands. Just didn't pick the right combination for early delivery lottery.

Funny (not really actually kinda annoying/angering) that the watches shipped in nearly the same order that they are in the display case.... At least at my local store.

Well. You should just go by the ship date given to you instead of trying to speculate your ship date based on other watches that aren't the one you ordered.

I admire your ability to complete disregard other watch models, their early shipping, how no other watch has failed to ship to at least one customer at the beginning of the shipping window, etc. How when you apply the conditions of literally every other watch model, that the Space Black should already be shipping out to customers by now. You see the Space Black situation in a vacuum, which you seemed appalled to find out other people can't.

Just ordered the space back hirise stand from TwelveSouth to match our pending orders, so the race is on - will I have a watch with no stand or a stand with no watch...

And you've been named the official....

I disagree. Yes, I had a delivery window that I agreed to. I select my watch based on the window, May 13-27. The other options (all other SS models) I liked were showing shipping in June and July. I ordered those bands separately, but opted for the watch that shipped the soonest (based on the information provided by apple at the time of my order).

BUT...apple has been delivering the June and July models prior to my window. That is what I take issue with. My window is now here, but had I gone with any of my other options, I would have had my watch sevaral days ago. It's like selecting a line at the grocery store that has the fewest people, only to watch them open up the other lines and serve others first. I had no issue with the window I accepted, But it is frustrating to have to watch so many others jump ahead.

I would have to disagree. The SB SS from the start always had the longest window. There were no other watches shipping in July other than the SB SS, and that hit July within an hour, nothing else was even close.

It's all conjecture, but they either take far more time to produce or demand for them was much greater than other Apple Watches. I'd say it's most likely the former.

Just because other watches shipped prior to their window, it's not a given your specific model will. I had an SB SS, SS BCB and a link bracelet on pre-order. None shipped before my delivery window. My SS BCB shipped almost a week after launch (and it's delivery window) despite ordering in the first 15 mins.

Who else has had this happen?

Reading this thread while the apple watch commercial comes on the TV.

Middle finger up to you :apple: on this long long wait

So I just found this thread, and I thought I'd register and slowly go crazy waiting with the rest of you

Ordered a 42mm on the 14th, est date is July, but I actually have a theory about that:

If you look on Apple's site under the SB Watches, the est dates are 4-6 weeks for the 38, and July for the 42. Now, if stock was really that limited, wouldn't it make more sense if those est dates were like, August or September or something?

How could someone order a 42mm SB watch right now and have the same July delivery date as I do? Doesn't make sense to me. So, I think that the 5/13-5/27 people will probably get theirs pretty soon, and the July people like myself will probably get moved up to mid/late May to early June.

That's what I'm telling myself anyway :p

Watching Montreal vs Tampa bay lighting while my wife teases me to death with her SS BCB 38" . CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!
