I think it goes to show, anyone that should be getting charged today - if your bank is open, giving them a call to know this is coming may not be a bad idea at all!!
I've called my bank 4 times since placing the order to let them know.

Thanks guys. I'm supposed to go out of town Thursday morning. I probably have time to pick it up from the ups store as long as I can get it when they open.
Yeah, I also got declined. Evidently, the credit card companies also do not understand why it took so long for these orders to process
Whoops...missed the "straightened it out" part.
Yeah, got Wells to lift it, didn't need to call, order status page let me reauthorize the same card and it went through fine. See the charge on my end now.
Again, guys, we've seen an :04 charged. So, everyone before that will be part of this batch. (provided they process us the same as the other "rarities") - pretty much a given, they will.

Why would it be declined if it takes too long? Don't get it. My Amex has never been declined for that reason.
It's probably pretty rare to have the preauth for a transaction a month or more from the charge. We've see a lot of cards doing this for the other groups.
I was saying that a little tongue in cheek. The real reason is probably the amount of the charge and the fact it occurred in the middle of the night. Must have triggered the fraud alert.

I would highly recommend all of you call your bank or CC company, just to give them a heads up. Be a hell of a thing you waiting and, meanwhile, they denied it.
This. Many financial institutions have a 30 day max window for these sorts of things. At least Apple has a very straightforward process so you don't have to lose your place in line.
That makes sense.
My card has never declined anything that I've done, but if I thought I was getting charged today, I'd be calling them just to make damn sure.

No, don't think so. Your status will change to PFS. You need to be able to see that on your bank/CC website (or have alerts setup, so you know when you've been charged).
My order confirmation arrived at 8.05 and I've had no change yet.....

Interestingly the extra sport band I ordered separately afterwards also shows 8.05 on the confirmation email...... but this was definitely done after the watch (so likely watch order was actually earlier and there was a delay on the email receipt).
