I don’t obsess over scratches, my watches are used and I’m under no illusions this particular watch will be redundant in a drawer in a couple of years. I certainly won’t pay more money than the £360 I paid, for a stainless steel version with the same shelf life.I had the aluminum version before returning it for the SS. On day 5 with the aluminum I accidentally banged a metal door. Sure enough there was a scratch right in the top left quadrant. It drove me crazy. Every time I looked at the watch I immediately focused on the scratch. You do not want to experience this level of suffering. If you can, buy SS and sapphire.
My 11 1/2 old AW2 is in good condition and I’m happy with its durability for its price.
