So no lines at AT&T stores, right? They said there won't be iPhones to pick up until the 29th.

There was no line at the ATT store near my office when I left over an hour ago. There may be a few people there now. Nothing like years past. The ATT store manager did tell me that they will be serving in store reservations only today. Which I thought ATT was only going to do on the 25th. I guess once the supplies ran out, they decided they might as well give away the reserved orders today, since they had no other stock in store.

It seems like, with the early pre order deliveries this year, some of the fizzle has gone out of launch day. Not that I am complaining, but the store would have been packed any other year.

I wonder if the return lines will be as long as the launch lines when early adopters realize their phones only get signal so long as they don't actually hold them!

I'm waiting at an AT&T store right now. I talked to the manager last night and this is the only store in Tallahassee, FL that is getting the iPhone 4 on launch day. He said they are taking walk in traffic but he's not sure what time they'll open. He has a small stock of 12 or so phones now and he is going by FedEx at 8 AM today to pickup more. He also says more will be arriving throughout the day. I think the 29th announcement deterred lots of people because there are only 3 people here in line as of 6:20 am.

The mall my Apple store is in is not allowing people to line up, so when they open the doors, people are going to run out of their cars and CHARGE!!!!

That's a little ridiculous! Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance. Tell 'em about the "7 P's".

It is surprising how many people didn't read the AT&T memo. They also hung it up as signs at the store. I was the only person in line with a pre-order. They turned everyone else away. Seeing them so angry was kind of funny.

AT&T memo only applies to corporate stores. I'm waiting at an authorized retailer and will have my phone in hand shortly. Employees are arriving.

I have been in line since 5am EST at Dadeland Mall Miami, FL.

Here are a few pictures

I just woke up about 45 minutes ago from a nice long sleep. I went downstairs, brewed up some coffee and sat down to check the news and prepare for my work day.

Oh, and I also checked the weather and a few other things on my iPhone 4 that that the FedEx guy was nice enough to drop of yesterday! Enjoy the lines. I'll be sitting in the comfort of my recliner thinking about you guys and reading up on your adventures. :D

Standing in line is a very unique experience. I have to say, I would prefer to be blogging from home with some AC. It is very humid here.

I feel awful "lucky" that no one showed up early at my local Walmart. This was a LOT easier than standing in line at the Apple store in my area...not as much fun but certainly easier.
