I agree, the keynote has already occurred I don't see an iPad Air 3 coming until fall 2016...

iPads can be released without a keynote.

Remember the iPad 4? It came out mid-cycle (no keynote) and upset many who'd just bought a shiny-new iPad 3. Not only that, but the iPad 4 got it's own storage bumped up to 128 GB (from 64) just a few months after its debut (no doubt upsetting those who'd just bought what they thought was the biggest model)

That's very true. One of the low-key stealth moves by Apple.

great deal! I'll probably hop on it this week but I have a bunch of target gift cards I have been saving for an occasion like this (amex deal, spend 500 at Target, get 150 back). Plus stacking an employee discount will drop it down even further!!

If you can find a local target with one in stock, they will price match it. When I ordered mine earlier the staples actually had no stock of the ipad(site said it did, but what gives). So I ended up going to target next door.

I just know my closest target is lame and makes me bring in the local printed ad...

Sweet! I had just ordered one of these on Friday for the $100 off deal. Found a 16GB available for store pickup at my local staples for the new $150 off, so ordered that.

I keep like nothing on my iPads, they are internet surfing devices mostly. I bought the top o the line cell data iPad 1 back in the day, then hardly used its features. Then used it for waaaaaay too long cause I had spent $700 on the damn thing and couldn't justify another until it got really crippled.

Next round decided to go as cheap as possible (16gb wifi) and have been happy ever since. And I can upgrade much more often too.

Ok I'm crazy but just got it for 404 and tax. 10 percent cartwheel slick deal people used stacked with staples price match.

This is for 64gb. This coupled with 8.4 and another perfect screen, the mini4 16gb has to go back

Thanks op!!

Target price matches Staples?
YMMV. Some Targets allow and some don't. Depends on the manager, but can't hurt to try. Also they may or may not let you (depends on manager again) use Cartwheel on this item after price matching with Staples. Read the Cartwheel terms on Target site for specifics. If you have Redcard you can also save 5% on top.

Alternatively, if you have American Express $25 off $250 Best Buy offer you can price match to BBY. You can earn close to $10 in BBY rewards so with price match + $25 Amex offer + $10 rewards it comes close (~$14 or so) to Target w/ 10% Cartwheel. Also BBY has better selection and inventory in store compared to Target.

Sorry, before the 150 dollars off deal, about a week ago or so, they were 399 at staples. So I traded in two old worth nothing working tablets at Best Buy for the 50 dollar gift card and 50 dollar coupon to trade up to the new Samsung S2 tablet. Well I did that twice, got 100 dollar gift card, 100 dollars of coupons for Samsung tablet you do not have to use. So I had Best Buy price match staples 399 air 2 deal for me then used my gift card. So a week ago I got it for 299.99. Funny thing I did the junk tablet trade in again after I returned air 2 to Best Buy due to the speaker and screen issues.

So I had 150.00 gift card and my 299.99 plus tax burning hole in pocket. So I bought the mini 4 which I am enjoying a lot on par with the enjoyment of my air 1 but now I got a mini 2 just sitting here in perfect condition. I am really OCD about the quality and longevity of my electronic toys.

The thing I got mixed feelings about is IOS 9 on this new mini 4 because alReady I had apps crashing in the middle of using them on the mini 4 due to buggy/glitchy IOS9 for no apparent reason. I not have had an app crash ever on my mini 2 or Air1 using IOS 8 different versions using same apps and versions.

Also so far best of usage battery time I can get on this new mini 4 was 10 hours and 25 minutes until it shutdown and said charge me. I think it should be better than that but then again I think it's an issue with IOS 9...

You got an Air 2 for $250 or $350? I'm struggling with the math...

This is a great deal but something is telling me to wait. I went to the Apple Store last week and they told me to wait until next month. They said the air 2 is supposed to become the intro iPad Air with a price drop. I don't know if that means the 3 is coming out soon or what.

Lol they are making things up.

Fun fact my air2 was made in early August.

August 13 8.4.1 was released. The manufacturing date narrowly escaped being not jail breakable

Just curious how can you tell when your iPad was made? I know the serial # identifies this but how do tell?

I suspect the deals on the Air 2 is because it's been out now for over a year. It's possible that Apple could have an air 3 for a Christmas release, but highly unlikely.
Any ISO 9 issues will be across the board on all the new tablets this year including the pro. It's the nature of the beast and it is nothing compared to being a beta tester when a new android platform is released.

What should I be looking for when I pick up my iPad Air 2 from staples and bring it home and turn it on pixels, screen uniform and speaker vibration or has this been fixed?

Well I can go out and get the Staples deal either tonight or tomorrow. So pumped. I checked the tax rate and after tax the 64GB Air 2 will be $479 out the door.

Upgrading from a 16GB Air 1 so I am excited not to constantly have to delete an app or two every few days just because app updates are out. I don't store music on my iPad so I will have plenty of room for apps, etc.

Will you get any store credit for your current iPad Air towards your iPad Air 2 purchase or just sell it to someone else?

I honestly don't even think Apple could announce an Air 3 that would be more attractive than my current Air 2. This thing is blazing fast with NO lag at all. With the staples $150 discount and an employee discount I got a iPad Air 2 64gb for ~$400. That's $200 less than an Air 3 would be right now. I wouldn't pay $200 more for 3D touch so what else could it possibly offer?

$400.00 w 64GB is truly an amazing deal for the iPad Air 2 and even if Apple did launch an iPad Air 3, the Air 2 is no slouch and will provide many years of great service. There is always something new around the corner.

Thank you so much! I was hesitant on getting an iPad Mini 4 or just trying to go another year with my iPad 2. Grabbed the last iPad Air 2 at my local Staples! I can't believe I used an iPad 2 for 4.5 years.

So many stores have the iPad Air 2 on sale. There must be something coming this year. We are not even in the holiday season yet. I am trying to determine if I should buy now or wait and see what happens. Thoughts?

It's certainly the best/worst time to get a new iPad! I took the plunge on the 64GB. Getting this as a gift for gf to replace her aging iPad 2. Wanted to wait for iPad Pro or Air 3, but hard to pass up the savings. Even if Air 3 comes out soon, I could use that $150 towards a year of Apple Music with room to spare for apps..or a new AppleTV!
