Valid question.. Yes, auto updates option is set to Yes.

When does it say it was last updated? I'm curious as to how each pass works. So far I've only used Fandango which worked well - have a business trip coming up next week so I'll be trying out the AA boarding pass as well.

Things like the SBux card are what I see as being the most useful though with auto balance updates, hence my general curiosity.

I imagine their servers are being hammered this morning.

That being said - inside of PassBook I turned auto update off, then quickly back on and everything updated with my new balance.

Says it was updated 1 hour ago. I used the card at least 3 hours ago at the SB on the corner of Custer & 121. I'm sure you know where that is..;)

I actually dont see it.

Absolute fail. Starbucks is a worldwide company. They should have a worldwide app. The only time I visit Starbucks is abroad on trips, and I'm from Norway. No app here at all..

OK, so I have the Starbucks Mobile Card app. In this app I have a SB card with money on it. I haven't used it in a while, but when I open the app it tells me, basically that I should touch a banner to put my card in the Starbucks app - which is a totally different app (I know it's stupid) that will allow me to open my card in passbook. Here's the problem. When I touch the banner it simply takes me to the App Store to get the Starbucks app, which I already have. What the hell Starbucks. What am I supposed to do????? HELP.

And also, the reason there's no iPhone 5 support is because of the way they treat newly published apps. If one adds a splash screen image for iPhone 5, the minimum OS required has to be iOS 6. Hence the companies/developers that don't have iPhone 5 support yet are trying not to lock down their iOS 5 customers.

No.

It is trivially easy to enable the iPhone 5 support while allowing the app to also be compatible with iOS 4 and iOS 5. You have to compile against the iOS 6 SDK, but this does NOT mean that the app is iOS6-only.

The hard part is going through the entire app and seeing if it looks ugly when stretched out. That testing part is what takes most of the time.

Star Rewards

Havn't tried using Passbook yet at a Starbucks but I set it up with no issues. I see reading through these posts that the balance updates but do the all important Star Rewards update also? I am assuming to keep track of the Star Rewards you still need the Starbucks app? only reason why I got the app in the first place is to get free coffee :)

Anyone know how to deal with this?

Starbucks Card (Passbook) Not Working in Canada?

Doesn't seem to work in Canada. No automatic pop up nor the ability to add it to Passbook via the Manage section of the app.

Any ideas?

I taught the whole point of this app to work at least Canada and USA. I always use my card in both places. Passbook suppose to make things much easier.

weird. when i launched it after the update, the first thing it asked me to do was to add it to passbook (i have an existing goldcard w/ an available balance). after that, it wanted me to add favorite locations – i added 3.

since theres a starbucks w/ in stones throw of my house, every time i used my phone (at home), passbook would alert me. after removing all the favorite locations, i noticed that every time i used my phone (for the first 10 - 15 sec), passbook would be utilizing my location services. i quickly flipped it off as i would assume it would munch my battery more than usual.

the whole flow was pretty simple to me...

Yeah but that's what I said, the poster I quoted mentioned you being able to take a picture of your pass and manually add it in Passbook. That was never mentioned in the WWDC.

You're right it wasn't. When I mentioned it I said it would be nice if that's how it worked and they should have enabled a feature like that. You have to admit it does make sense to be able to do that.

What I do is have a screen at the very end where all the useless unremovable crap apps go - stocks, newstand, notes...

Notes is not crap since it integrated iCloud sync IMO, I use it quite often as I can now access the notes on my iPad / Computer / iPhone. Stocks is not crap for me because I work in that industry... but I like the CNBC app much more.
