Mine sounds exactly like that. In the video it's barely noticeable. I can only hear it in mine when there's no white noise in the background or other sounds etc. nice wasps btw lol

Did you manage to go to the Apple store to return it today?

Just came home with my 7S tonite and have this same issue. It is very noticeable. Also there is a pretty loud audible "CLICK" when i press the zoom button on the video. not sure if that is an issue or not but it's annoying and a deal breaker for me to keep this phone.

That sucks man... it's a deal breaker for me too.

Do they replace the phone with a completely new out-of-the-box one?
That depends, in some countries they just give you a replacement inside a simple white box that's all.

thought mine didn't have it but it does.... i think most phones will have this...
difference is, if you use headphone then everything is fine, but if you just use the phone , then it's all different.
Actually, I compared ip7p with ip6p to check, ip7p with headphones sounds exactly the same as ip6p without headphone. However, you will notice a big difference between ip6p with ip7p's recording.

Good to know yours sound the similar, but sorry to hear you have the same issue. Mine has hiss on the back of the phone too. Do you guys think this is just the hiss being captured by the camera?

hissing sounds exists on my iphone 6plus too. But the video recording sounds a lot different.

I guess I just never noticed it on my 6S Plus, but I'm hearing hiss while talking on the phone now too. Sounds like static or white noise.

What are you guys plans re: this issue? Going to try to get it changed?

I did infact get my exchanged at the Apple Store yday but the replacement phone has the same issue. So not sure if its universal? Do you guys now anyone else with a 7+ who does not have this issue with video recording?

I have a hiss on my 6S+ as well but it is the same static/white noise that you hear. however on my 7+ this is not static there is an audible LOUD hiss at the beginning of each video almost sounds like a wave crashing at the beach and then it goes back to a (slightly louder than my 6S+) white noise. This is not at all the same and has to be an issue. I'll be returning mine tomorrow and probably just gonna hold off. I was on the fence before today and this is making my decision easy

Quick example..you can see how it goes away after a few seconds..happens every time i take a video

Wow that comparison is night and day! That loud hiss sounds even worse than the video I took and yours really does sound like waves crashing. Honestly, this is my third iPhone 7 Plus because of half screen yellow tint and hiss issues. Still having hiss and some yellowing still. What we could do is wait a week and do a return and try to see if new shipments make a difference. I've been to two stores and all three iP7Plus' have about same issues.

It's definitely not pleasant at all in videos. A loud hiss sounds even worse than the video I took. Honestly, this is my third iPhone 7 Plus because of half screen yellow tint and hiss issues. And this is exactly why I'm just going to hold off. My 6S+ has been pretty solid especially since the latter half of the iOS 10 betas (been running 10 since Beta 1). Was pretty excited tonite when I started playing around with and comparing the camera to my 6S+, I really can see a noticeable difference especially in low light. Installed 10.1 Beta 1 and am very impressed with Portrait mode as well. But at the end of the day this hiss crap is a deal breaker and I'm not spending ~$500 (after selling my 6S+) for a phone with this major of an issue. I take a ton of videos on my phone of my kids and this will ruin them. Can't these freakin phone manufactures do some QC on a $900 phone??? Yeah Samsung's issue is worse but jeez apple c'mon this is a main reason why people buy your phones..

Oh wow, yea that sounds bad. Mine just has a small high pitch static sound that I can only hear when recording when there is no background noise.

very similar to mine. I don't think this is normal at all.
Mine doesn't do that at all. All I really hear on mine is that high pitch static sound which from reading seems normal even on older iPhones.
