Signed by Ballmer or not, it is now a great thing to have (even though I hate Ballmer, I have to admit it).

It is one of those things that not everyone has or will be able to have.
I agree, it is very unique, I wouldn't pay for it, but it would be cool to have. I'd have him sign the bottom, though.
How you ruin your Badboy in one fell swoop.
It's probably worth more than what he paid for initially at this point. [joke] By the way, when the MBP's are upgraded to Arrandale, your MBP will be using old technology, not designed for the future, you should have waited 7 months... then it would really be future proofed... [/joke]

You might try putting it on Ebay with a fairly high reserve to see what it will fetch.

Ya never know.

I had to laugh about the people thinking the OP's MBP is somehow now worth $$$ because Ballmer signed it. Firstly, if the OP ever tried to sell it there's no way to prove that's Ballmer's signature. It might be nice for the OP to have it has a keepsake but IMO it was downright insulting for Ballmer to write "Need a new one?" Some might think it's comic, but coming from him I'm sure he meant it, especially since he was all too happy to write directly over the Apple logo.

I would have thought all this news coverage, pictures, and even video - were enough to proove it!!! He's IN the video!

Did you read all the posts? He has all kinds of proof with news and best proof would have to be the video.

Yeah, video recordings aren't proof enough... And who cares if he wrote it over the Apple logo? It's a ****ing computer...

Sorry, missed the video, I see it now. I guess the OP would have to show that video to whomever he sells his MBP to, in order to increase the value of it.

So basically he was right about the iPhone? It didn't become a great hit at $500 fully subsidized. It became a great hit when they lowered prices.

I like Apple, I got the iPhone 3G, I had the iPhone 2G even though it wasn't sold in Sweden, I have had Macs for the last years and so on. But Ballmer is most likely smarter then your average forum lurker, you don't become a CEO if your a retard, and everyone can't be a CEO, if they could then most people are dumb for not doing it.

The problem is at that time, the unlocked price of iPhone was less than other similar phones. So no, he's not right, but looks like he took his medication that day though. ;) BTW he said similar things about the iPod, iTunes, App Store.

This article explains what happens when he doesn't take his medication:

MS market cap has been stagnant ever since Ballmer took over. Translation for those who haven't taken any business courses: Steve Ballmer doesn't add ANY value to the company.

Not to the people who have invested their hard-earned into it it's not.

I have invested nearly 3k usd on my 13" MBP with the SSD and AppleCare and whatnot (and given im a college student I got less income then many others), it's still just a computer. Spending a lot does not change the fact that it is a computer.

Well, he was right, he only claimed that the iPhone would not be a big seller at the price, and it wasn't, even though similar phones cost more, it was not a big seller.

Also, you draw a false conclusion at the end about Ballmer not adding any value to the company. The MS market cap could have gotten worse if he was not in charge, and the stagnation is caused by something else. And there's a lot of other things that could be the cause. But you would know that if you would have taken any business courses.
