My MBP has some sort of anti-scratch adhesive film on it, and still looks great after 3.5 years. You might consider investing in a similar film to keep his scrawls from getting smudged. You've got a museum piece now!

I don't know. Any fanboy who is willing to pay a serious amount of money over the retail cost of his macbook because of the signature is probably the same type of fanboy who bashes Apple gear just cause.
