His handlers need to get him to stop emailing people. No matter how successful he is or how much the spin doctors fix him up for presentations the bottom line is he is a nerdy high school geek with no social skills. And if you read his candid responses you can plainly see this. His success has made him an egomaniac on top of it. He combs these message boards and responds to emails like a teenager with a Facebook account.

And this "I'm hip and in touch with the people" attitude doesn't work when you're bigger than Microsoft. Learn a lesson from Gates, unless you want pies thrown at you, too. How about practicing what you preach and retiring and enjoying your family?

There is actually a way to get people to respect you without fearing you, and if you can figure that out things like this wouldn't happen… Unfortunately, there isn't an app for that.

+1

Also these latest responses fit entirely in line with the kind of irritated response he is caught saying LIVE on 'all things Digital':

Mossberg: What if the calls dont get improved?

SJ: Then they wont.

iPhone 2G v iPhone 4

Let me sum this up:

Three years with the original iPhone and NO SIGNAL ISSUES in my home.

Two Days with the iPhone 4 and two failed Text Messages and a dropped call!

APPLE HAS A PROBLEM! It's the same house, the same carrier, the same tower, and the same hand holding the phone in the same manner. The only difference is the phone.

<end of debate> :D

Fix it, Steve!

Now with these ignorant videos and this mass hysteria all anyone wants to do is run around with a naked iPhone 4 poking it in the corner.

I definitely agree there is mass hysteria, but, "ignorant videos"? If you're referring to people just demonstrating the issue, then I think you're mistaken.

It looks like the problem bridging the two antennas on number 1 is cause of number 2. Cause it looks tome that number 2 its connected eachother, but it shouldn't. If it were not, then bridging the antennas on number 1 wouldn't make any effect...but maybe am wrong...

Yes, I think that's been covered. The issue is connecting each antenna.

So the question might be whether getting a signal less than -88 dBm is considered to be within a defined coverage area, or not.

“coverage” is sold based on the carriers advertised area. If you are not in a area that AT&T advertises coverage, nothing you say is going to get a phone defected out. Now if your phone never got a signal period and AT&T coverage maps says you should, you might have a better argument.

Retail stores that sell phones tend to have pretty strict requirements for what they consider defective units or not. Of course in most cases, the retail outlet demands you talk to the carrier. Apple is very different in that case.

So they still think the software is reporting a wrong amount of bars, when there is more bars than it claims. Well lets hope it is fixable with a software update then.

I really, really believe it is. I think this because EDGE cannot be affected by the death grip, but 3G can.

I have the iPhone iOS 4 manual pdf and all the package inserts - can you point me to where it says there is a new way to hold them other than the many many example pictures that have been displayed here?

Hmmm... interesting point. I see the warning not to touch the antenna area in my Nokia manual. But Apple's iPhone Product Information and Safety pdf only says where the antenna is located. If that's the case, and I haven't missed something, perhaps the next job listings for positions at Apple will contain an opening to replace an FCC regulatory submissions lawyer?

Oh my god!!! 2 whole failed messages?! And an entire dropped call! jesus dude, how are you surviving?

I really like the idea of ATT's 'Mark the Spot' app.

Its great for dropped calls...but how am I supposed to report 'No data connection' when I have no data connection? :\

This is why I don’t consider emails from Steve Job’s as Official apple statements and instead rely on press announcements. Not only are they content limited, there is no way to authenticate them as official. This whole fake exchange demonstrates exactly why emails should not be seen as “official” unless we see more action taken at the corporate level. Emails can be faked and even ones that are real can be taken way out of context.

Emails from sjobs@apple.com simply do not constitute a formal statement by Apple 100% of the time. They tend to be statements taken from a defensive point of view that simply can mean far too much.

The program caches our request based on Wi-fi when it can and sends it when data is available.

Haha. You do know EVO is only available on Sprint right?

I've been having iPhone 4 reception issues, but I would never trade up for an evo. I don't understand what all the hype about Android is. It is essentially a WinMo 6 device with larger icons.

I would sooner switch back to a 1st generation iPhone. :)

Thats good info...but, are you sure?

I get an error that says 'unable to determine location. Try again later'

That’s what I recall. It uses whatever data it can get via any available connection. If it cannot get any data, you can manually tell the program where the failure was. See here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/at-t-mark-the-spot/id338307313?mt=8

The app gives you the option to drag a marker to the spot that you lost the connection in. That way you can report a dead spot without actually being in the dead spot.

ANd the pictures seem to indicate that it uses GPS but I will amend my statement by staying that it does use location services (more accurate) whatever they may be.

I think he's amusing himself by reading replies to his posts from retards on the internet.

BTW - thanks for stepping up to the place:D

It's NOT $200, silly people!

You can take home a new car after you paid $200. Does that make the car worth $200? Nope.

The unsubsidised price of the iPhone 4 is £499 ($758) in the UK. That is to have the handset without a contract or tied to a telecom company. $758!

Of course, most people on both sides of the Atlantic pay enter a contract and they get free minutes and some data allowance every months. Nevertheless, then the full price of the phone is into the thousands.

So much about some teenagers' lack of understanding of the true cost of life.
