I'm procrastinating at my desk six months after the new icon and yes, it definitely still sucks. The worst icon on my dock.

Very strange that Apple would allow this to be so uncreative. I wonder if Cupertino has metrics on the use of iTunes since the new icon. I bet the number of launches has gone down.

Sadly, Apple decided to recycle this turd for the Mac App Store.

These icons smack of Windows Vista/7. :(

Well I think it fits in with the look and feel of Snow Leopard. I have gotten used to it and think it actually looks quite nice!

No joke.

Over 100 icons on my doc

Speaking as one of the lucky few who has over 100 icons in my dock, that iTunes icon is absolutely the worst. Even my SEVEN!!!!!! year old Sound Diver 3.1.0 public beta icon is far more esthetic and advanced. I've got TEN year old programs with better icons.

Just another blatant incidence of Jobs taking the entire platform of computing BACKWARD to suit his Willie Wonka whims and aspirations to the lowest common denominator.

I STILL to this day have trouble finding that cursed iTunes icon in the dock.

Yes, I gave it enough chance. Time to do the due diligence and replace it with the last good one.

Why is this convo still going? I'm actually following @itunes10icon on Twitter.

...100 icons? Wow.

Um, don't you think these statements might be related? The dock is for quick access, not a repeat of the Applications folder.

Excuse me for regularly using over 100 programs. Not all at once, but more often than I want to have to dig through the applications folder, where I have over 300+ applications.

And yes, I regularly prune and have dumped at least 50 applications in the past several years.

I work several jobs and don't specialize.

AND I can now find my iTunes icon easily having reverted.

I think it looks good, mines sits along side Safari and the App store logo's, it fits in so well there. For those who really hate it, then why don't you change it, surely their isa way to use the old logo instead.

Or maybe, just maybe you could get out more.

Agree with:
And why is this a story?

Because wars, giant waves, earthquakes, tea baggers, space shuttles, Sarah Palin, Charlie Sheen, people heroically trying to shut down reactors, and so much more aren't enough.

Besides, the people who obsess over the logo aren't even aware of any of the above as news doesn't filter down to the basement....

It's beautiful, even though I like to make fun of Jobs when it is appropriate.

I really like the new logo instead :D but like the previous poster said, the content matters the most. And definitely we need a Cocoa rewrite for iTunes; maybe with iTunes 11!

*cough* *cough* Spotlight !!

BTW - Can you post a screen shot of your applications folder? This I have to see.

Jobs is just cranking that reality distortion field way up in the sky!
