So when u'all make your arm chair prognosises , precede it with the disclaimer:

"I'm not a doctor but......."

So we can just skip your post ;)

As I was siting here setting up my new 3G S, I just read this... The phone doesn't seem to important now...

Here's to you Steve and a FULL recovery!

That's a very honorable thing to say. I couldn't agree more, it is so easy to take things for granted.

What was so sad about Steve's declining health was that, it was so visible to us all through his weight, he looked so gaunt

We're all thinking of you Steve

I'd like to know what POS came out with this today on the iPhone release. What an ******. And who is this expert doctor coming out with this "common" for liver cancer after the rare pancreatic form? I hate everyone right now. Including many posting here.

I'll second this.

This news sort of stunned me.

are they being serious about Jobs keeping with his planned end-of-June return to Apple? With the implication of a metastasis (hence the transplant), you'd think he is barely holding on to his life. Living with a major transplant like the liver is no walk in the park; does anyone really seriously expect him to return to Apple?
:(

you would like to know? It was Apple Inc. and Steve himself who off record souced this to the WSJ. Steve is coming back to work and could not continue to hide the transplant info so he and Apple strageically released it on 1) the day of a hugely successful product launch so good news would come with bad and 2) on a Friday evening to soften the stock blow after 2 days of thought before investors decide to act on Monday. This story comes straight from Jobs himself, I promise.

The rumor said he may be at St. Jude's cancer-research childrens hospital. If so, that would be cool if he donated a bunch of money to them as I believe they are fully non-profit and operate on an endowment..

I Think It's Curtains For Steve Jobs

I hate to say this guys, but I think Steve's health situation is a bit more dire then he and his publicist/media machine are letting on. I hope he gets better (I really do) but I'm a realist I think that we will all be getting the news in the not to distant future that he is, dead or is in a hospital some were in a coma knocking on deaths door. Pancreatic cancer is nasty, nasty, nasty. Think about it,.. as a result of the cancer (that he claims he has beaten by having a part of his pancreas removed) he has had to have a "liver transplant"! (This is not good guys no matter how you spin it)

I think its curtains for the guy, I really do.

That's just my opinion

Yes it is.

I, am doctor
Please stop rambling off about someones health.
Its just not nice...
Go back to your duties...
Go on...
Shoo!
Well said! :)

I Think It's Curtains For Steve Jobs
So you are a medical doctor?

And you aware of his personal medical condition?

You might be right and you might be wrong. We can all speculate and that is all it is. Nothing more.

If your opinion is based on Sesame Street level medical knowledge than it's better to keep it to yourself.

Double posting doesn't make it any better.

   :apple:

Lets not worry, Apple has done fine so far. At least Steve Jobs will know he left the world in a far better place. :)

On a side note, I wonder where that $28Bill went to? Did it get put into stem cell research so they can grow Jobs a liver in the shape of the Apple Logo... that glows? :D

A liver transparent is only necessary when all options have failed. It's a last ditch effort. As someone who is close to people who have hepatitis, the failure of a liver is lethal and the best solution is to have a whole new liver. Given that, it's obvious Steve was under life threatening conditions. When a liver has complications, the body's ability to filter toxins is drastically degraded, allowing these toxins to take its course. It's very deadly.

Patients awaiting a liver transplant have to wait years and when one is available, they are usually given to individuals who have potential to lead productive healthy lives. Most people who need one never get one. Given Steve's stature in society, I wouldn't be surprised if he got pushed to the top of the list.

I'm glad this episode is over, get well :)

You don't need to be a doctor to see when things look bad. You don't need to be a plumber either to see there's a leak under the sink. Use your common sense, man.
