We love you Steve. Thank you so much for being a mentor to millions and visionary for billions with all that you gave us! You were a gift that will continue to be treasured! :apple:

S.I.R.I. - Steve is right inside

totally shocked :((( this is so sad!

But he will always be with us - let's assume SIRI stands for "Steve is right inside" !

RIP - Steve - one of the greatest minds in IT history!

Steve Jobs was passionate, dedicated, inspirational, visionary, and a perfectionist. He changed the world for the better. My sympathies to his family.

The death of Steve Jobs is a loss of a giant. Those who care about apple and their products, as well as those who do not, stand together in recognising the profound impact he has had on how we live our lives.

Rest in peace Steve.

Watch the Keynote

Watch the keynote - you can tell they all knew Steve was close to death. The way Tim handled his first keynote knowing what was happening i'd say Apple is in good hands. The best way to keep Steves' memory alive is to get behind Tim and co. and help them keep Apple alive.

RIP Steve, we'll miss you

Perfect Vision

....if everyone had 1% of your brilliance and outlook on life this world would be a much better place to live...

R.I.P Stevie.......enjoy the future

Steve invented the Mac, the iPod, the iPad, Mac Book, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Galaxy tablet, bought mouse computing to the masses, revolutionised retail, changed the way we buy and listen to music, revolutionised hollywood with his animation movies, we will never see his like again.

RIP Steve, you amazing man.

Ive read macrumors for years now but never had an account on the forums. Today I made that account because I finally found an article worthy of my reply. RIP Steve, you will be missed by all.

RIP to a LEGEND, an ICON, a VISIONARY, a GREAT MAN!!!

I DID notice the reserved chair and how they kept over and over showing to on cam empty and nobody sat in it, I bet they DID know...I really hope they release some recent pics on him and give some detail. I don't think I ever have been more interested in the where how what of anyone in the iconic world other than in this case!!

It's all been said, but even if there were 100,000 posts in this thread, it wouldn't be long enough.

What an uneasy, empty feeling I have had in my stomach all day, it is hard to concentrate om my work...to imagine the strength of the executives doing the iPhone event, to not break down at any point...having surely been aware of the impending inevitability...(I too noticed the empty seat, seems obvious in retrospect) there was just a tangible sense of uneasiness or discomfort about the whole thing

This man's legacy cannot be expressed so that the human mind can fathom it. It is that great a contribution to modern society.

RIP Steve, you are an inspiration to us all...the King is dead, long live the king.

Steve did a lot for the tech world and he will be greatly missed. It doesn't matter if you like or use Apple products, if you use modern tech there is at least a little bit of his influence in it. We will miss you Steve.

As some others have noted I think his condition did have some influence on the tone of the keynote.

Let's hope that Steve accomplished what I am sure he tried to do and set Apple up to continue being an awesome company even after his death. I know that is what he would have wanted.

That is very ghoulish, why do you want to see pics of a dying man ? even those pics in June were quite distressing imagine what he would have been like recently !

I want to remember the fit and healthy Steve

My MacBook Pro from 2008 also refuses to start since today. Coincidence ?

You will be missed Steve !
