The only comfort I can find is knowing how proud he must of felt of his legacy, for it is truly great. How much people loved him and how much he touched us is obvious in how heartbroken so many are without ever having met him.

He ennobled all of us and he shall not be forgotten.

This is a HUGE loss for Apple, Steve Jobs was their Obi-wan-Kenobi, and visionary for the future products to create, plus a great salesman on top of it. Don't know anyone that can fill his shoes the same way now.

The iPhone4S is ok, but not what Apple needs right now, they really needed that iPhone5 all new design, with larger screen, and other features, and now the death of their founder :(

Tough times ahead for Apple. I am sure the 4S will still sell like hot cakes, but I can see in a couple years from now, they will decline, with Windows 8 phones being very competitive next year, and also Android-Jellybean.

Honestly I am still getting over this. It's hit me harder than any other celebrity death. He was an amazing man, and he inspired my creative drive, and life philosophy. If not for the great imagination of this great man, and the tools he helped create, I would not have found my love for design, or even music.

My whole childhood would have been very different, I learned to use a Macintosh before I even knew how to walk.

Thank you Steve, we will all miss you.

"But there is one more thing... " will never be heard with such great expectations as before.

Big thanks to Apple for providing me a job, valuable stock options and great multimedia devices.
I am sure you were a key element of that success.

Forever rest in peace

The world may never know a single person who has truly shaped the future of all mankind. He will be forever missed and remembered for his vision, perfection, and the pursuit of things we could never have imagined.
I will never forget...

Farewell Steve!

....but he is not really dead ... legends never die!

Thanks for all the great moments you gave to us! We will never forget. You changed my life and my way of doing things...

The iPhone 4S is the last work released in Steve's life so in that sense it is a shrine to him, it is also the 4S as in (for Steve) so of all Apple products that have ever been released this is the most special one now even if it is not the most innovative so for Samsung to try and get it banned in some countries and issue lawsuits against Apple about the phone is now incredibly disrespectful and tasteless and if Samsung have a shred of honour they will tear up those lawsuits.

If Bill Gates died tomorrow and Apple were in litigation about Windows 8 and trying to get it banned I am sure out of respect for Gates' memory that they would not wish to appear disrespectful and drop or at the very least suspend the litigation.

The death of Steve is definitely one of those moments in history where everyone remembers what they were doing when they heard Steve died, same with man landing on the moon, Kennedy getting shot, Lennon getting shot and Elvis dying and of course 9/11

5th October 2011 is one of those days in history that will never be forgotten the world over

Absolutely, Steve was my Elvis, my Lennon, my JFK

I believe that with the wall to wall media coverage today on tv channels and it being the lead headline in every national paper out there today that what I said was 100% true

When I loaded up Twitter this morning the top 9 trending topics were about Steve and that was the UK trending topics, Britons mass mourning an American

You have got some issues real issues man

Back to reality, the tech world has lost a talented visionary

Made a new background for my 24 inch... Use it if you like it!

He changed everything for me. My migration from a windows user to the OSX platform in 2006 was the single most important choice I ever made - it shaped my interests, my career, and my passions. The intuition of OSX opened me up to trying things I never dreamed I'd be capable of. You will be very missed.

Why is this voted down?

Looks like Steve took this iPhone 4S news pretty badly, too.

RIP, one of the greatest business minds the world has known.

Come on guys, Steve had a great sense of humour, he knew his death was coming. He wouldn't want his fans to get offended over a joke. I'm sure he didn't mean malice by it, just trying to lighten the mood. It made me smile and I'm as sad as any other fan that Steve died.

I was just looking at a news photo of people placing flowers at an impromptu memorial outside a Moscow Apple Store.

When Jobs and Wozniak founded Apple back in 1977, the idea that some day ordinary Musocovites would be publicly mourning the passing of an American businessman would have seemed incredible. Thats how much the world has changed, and Steve played a huge role in that transformation. His devices fundamentally changed the way we learn about the world and communicate with each other.

This is a say day, one many of us feared was coming. Let us mourn his passing - but celebrate his life and accomplishments.

Absolutely, Steve was my Elvis, my Lennon, my JFK

Those were all quite unexpected deaths. If you were at all surprised to hear of Steve's passing, you weren't paying very close attention for the past year +.

I'm still getting over this, I really can't see Apple without Steve, I'm a bit worried that now Apple may fall behind.. But who knows.. Hopefully they continue to innovate even without Steve...

I came to say my peace. What an amazing inspiration to people from all backgrounds. You changed things Steve.
