Thats why I moved to the states or one of the reasons that sort of crap makes my blood boil :apple:

What a farce - LOL!

I will personally sort out knighthood for him when he allows Flash player to be installed to iDevices :)

He just gives away billions to charity while Steve Jobs cancelled all of Apples charity works when he returned to Apple.

Because he has more money than he could ever possibly spend in his own lifetime (considering he'll still be receiving income of some sort, even if just royalties). Jobs may not exactly be short on cash, but he has nowhere near the amount Gates does. In all truthfulness, Gates has enough to totally eradicate the whole issue of starvation/water shortage in a country if he really wanted to. Donating a few billion is like one of us donating a few pounds (or dollars for the americans).

I have far more respect for the person working a ****** job on minimum wage with a family to look after who still manages to spare a few pounds for charity every month than one of the richest men alive giving away a couple of his many, many, many billions when there is no chance in hell that he needs it himself.

Also, as for Steve cancelling any charity activities when he returned, he was rescuing a dying company. He saw that for the immediate future they needed to focus on themselves. Just cause it's not publicised, how do you know that he doesn't donate a little personally? Unless you have access to his personal bank account it would be imposible to determine.

Typical of Gordon, he was obviously annoyed that Steve wouldn't speak out for Labour... Rightly so too, Apple is one of the best examples of capitalism, whereas Labour are socialist all the way.

Still, Gordon having a little cry about it shouldn't have blocked Jobs' knighthood. It's amazing how much Steve has changed the modern world with iDevices and the Macintosh. What and idiot Gordon really is.

Nope, only a British citizen could take on the 'Sir' title, but the honour stands nonetheless.

Gordon Brown was a loathsome little toad anyway.

It's petty, but SJ is known to be rather petty as well - so I guess karma really is a bitsh...

Oh and yes, knighthoods are very political (as are ambassadorial appointments), so it's hardly really news... And definitely not worth getting hung up about.

15 Billion in the bank for Apple and they cant start up some form of charity.... Bill Gates does a lot more than just giving money. He left Microsoft to concentrate on his charity work, he even got some of the richest people in the world to give away half of their fortunes to charity. If Jobs gives away money great.

I'm amazed that so many places are picking up this piece of gossip as actual verified news. I'm kinda of surprised at the telegraph as well, this feels more like the rubbish you'd see on a Gawker site.

He didn't just donate money, he and his wife set up their own charity organisation. If he had given billions to a 3rd world country, odds are the person in charge would have used the money to simply arm and supply their own millitia.

You don't see Steve Jobs doing anything for charity, maybe he does donate a small amount to charity, but he doesnt do enough to get noticed.

What can be asserted without proof, can be dismissed without proof.
