Seriously?

I honestly hope that my worries are misplaced, and that Steve has many years left to enjoy with his family.

Good catch - I didn't research the name tag connection. (Obviously the gathering was larger than the dinner party, but it wouldn't be unreasonable for there to be a reception before dinner that included people who weren't part of the inner sanctum at the dinner itself.)

So, Steve didn't look so good in October, and there are no clear pictures of him from the event with President Obama....

From what I got from reading about it, it was a small private gathering, Obama, Zuckerman, Jobs, etc.

Anyway, the only newly taken of Steve Jobs showing his face and his full body are the ones from The National Enquirer that the Daily Mail has in their article. The ones that lots of people here said wasn't Jobs. But it's clearly him and it's clearly his wife.

And he doesn't look very healthy at all in them.

Problem is, that photo isn't from the meet. It's rather obvious. Look at all the people.

Now. Look at the other man. Look at his name tag. You can somewhat make out "Hall of Fame". Google 'Steve Jobs Hall of Fame' and you'll find out that the man is Stan Sigman. The photo was taken at the Wireless History Foundation’s Inaugural Wireless Hall of Fame Dinner, October 2010.

Well, you can thank FORBES for that misinformation.
They have since removed the article, but the image and a somewhat insulting caption can still be found midway this page:

Overheard in Redmond........

"Wait, wait, wait! There was a party....a party about innovation in America.....and I WASN'T INVITED?!!!! I freaking support BLU-RAY, and that's AFTER losing money backing HD DVD! GAHHHHHHHHHH!"

By the way...Steve Jobs has a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer, called Islet cell carcinoma. The 10 year survival rate is 32%. That is very good, especially with all the money and drive that Steve has. He looks like he is a man on chemo, not a man who is going to die. I say he lives till his 80's.

He looks in 10 times better shape than Michael Douglas did at the height of his cancer battle and Douglas got through it, Steve is not well but does not look like he is on his deathbed

I thought he looked pretty good. Treatment days are tough, to be out and about after is a good sign.

I understand everyone's concern about Steve, but being someone who knows him...can't they just leave him alone?? I understand he is a public figure, but everyone should be entitled to their private time, especially when it comes to medical. I do not know anything concerning his health, but I just wish people would stop with their speculations and leave he, and his family alone. At a time like this, if he does have cancer, I understand peoples concerns, but isn't his health at this time more important than hid company?? Let's pray for him, not because of Apple, but because of the man he is, and the good he has done...outside of Apple.

And it doesn't say "look- Steve's dying" either.

Your in denial. He has the look of an end stage cancer patient, If you've ever seen it, you'd never forget the look. His skin has that gray look that they get.

The only reason he's still alive is he has a no limit budget, and can go outside of the country to get drug therapies that are not FDA approved.

We are all so fortunate that you have the knowledge and experience to determine why Steve is still alive

Are you an oncologist, have you read the stage differentiation from his pathology report? What about the surgical findings?

None of us know the specifics of Steve's case. Cancer may be the most confounding disease process we deal with.

Very sad news. I wish the press would stay out of this though. It has to be pretty stressful to have this kind of attention on you all the time.
While I agree with you, the fact is one does not become a CEO without being able to ignore this sort of thing. I'm sure he's doing as best as can be expected. It's life.

Doesn't look good...

He had probably just had chemotherapy or radiotherapy do people seriously expect him to hop skip and jump to the car after probably the most gruelling thing known to man ?

He looks going to the car like any other person who has had demanding treatment that day

I am sure he is going to be fine after his treatment

I totally agree with you. The man probably had treatment earlier in the day and I don't think anyone should expect him to be walking normally.

nice spin, but not true

The stories are pretty clear that the photos were of him having breakfast *before* going to the center.

I finally had a chance to look at the RadarOnline video of Jobs exiting a restaurant with his wife.

First, I have no doubt it's Jobs. (And: nice car, Laurene!)

Second, unmentioned by any commentator I've read so far: Steve is smiling as he gets into the car.

He weaves a bit as he approaches the car. (I think the camera also catches him in a post-prandial burp.) The article notes he may be having issues with balance. But: So do I, because like Steve I have inner-ear problems that have impacted both my hearing and my balance. I walk like that too. (Steve's hearing issues benefit Apple consumers through his insistence that iDevices have superb sound quality-- something portable electronics weren't known for prior to the original iPods.)

Watching him walk, my impression is that I'm watching a fellow sufferer of inner-ear issues, not someone wavering around out of weakness from cancer or chemotherapy.

He's skinny but not much more so than in other photos. He does not drag his feet like someone who is very weak or suffering from neurological damage. His hair has not fallen out. He needs no assistance. He's careful not to ding the adjacent car as he climbs in.

And he smiles as he joins his wife in the car.

All in all, I'm heartened by the video. God be with you Steve; the world is better for your work.

I agree entirely.

OK. Spin it whichever way you want to.

But this is just ridiculous.

I mean, seriously?
Of course if you have a direct link that proves your theory, I will happily apologise.

I agree entirely.
Even about the superb sound quality?
Where did that come from?

Time will reveal the accuracy of your diagnosis and prediction.

His most loved asset is all the money he has to hug.

Upon second thought, he's probably going to live till he's one hundred years old.

Yeah, Steve is all about the riches. That's why he wears the same outfit every day and is designing a 5,000 sq ft "dream home" for $8 million. Compare that to Bill Gates' 66,000 sq ft, $150 million house.

Yep, Steve Jobs. Just a rich, gluttonous jerk. Amiright?

The weird thing is that you sometimes can feel good on the way home after a day of chemotherapy, because you're also newly filled up with lots of fluids.

It's the next few days after, as it all kicks in, that are so horrible :(

In any case, it's sad that our anti-cancer arsenal is still mostly made up of poisions.

maybe, who knows... If you read the unauthorised bio's he was early in his life.

Personality wise he seems to get a bad rep. from everyone.

oh and on Gates, he has helped many more millions than Jobs ever will with all his philanthropic work, including getting people like Buffett to contribute.

IIRC, it was Buffet who convinced Gates to become philanthropic.

As usual, Gates just borrowed the idea....

Philanthropy as written by Rockefeller and Carnegie was a far bigger influence than Buffet.

Gates wanted to give money and time.

oh and on the Borrowing thing...hmmm.... watch D5 (available on iTunes) to see Jobs waxing lyrical on Gates and Bill discussing his long held belief that 'tablets' were the future of computing.

so Gates had had the 'iPad' idea far longer than Jobs...
