I'm not sure, markcres, whether you completely failed to understand fishmoose's point, whether you are simply illiterate, or whether you are an idiot. Regardless of which, that's a particularly poor reply.

Fishmoose: very well said indeed and, needless to say, my very best wishes for the continued good health of your son.

Oh no I didn't write the blog. I'm single with no children. Ladies?

I hope the best for him.

Being personally blessed with the people at Stanford, and also having a teacher who was saved there from stomach cancer, I have the highest regards for the medical staff over there.

Won't believe it until I see the pictures published by the National Enquirer.

Wasn't Radar Online the same rag that said Drew Carey was going to die within a few months from pancreatic cancer, only to have Drew rebut them on Twitter a few hours later?

They've also missed Mr. Swayze's death by one year, not to mention Oprah's...criminal reporting at the very least.

Well, I am glad I am not able to see their website from Switzerland (content not available for whatever reason). No one is immortal, so just leave the man alone; he deserves privacy, regardless of his current condition.

Let's wait till the meeting with Obama.

The meeting with Obama will be at a private residence with no media or press coverage. Does not matter what the situation is anyway. Bottom line is that tech blogs should not use The National Enquirer as a source to report news especially about a human beings life.

I wish he would just quit and go enjoy life away from work. It must be pretty **** given what he has been through, and running Apple must be as stressful as hell.

When, a couple of days ago, there were leaked reports about him working a full day, there were no complains about his privacy.

And either that story is right or this one this, but I highly doubt that both are. If it is as bad as this one says, then he wouldn't be able to work a full day.
I was amazed (and somewhat encouraged) to find that what you say isn't always true. I have a friend who has just been diagnosed with 6 to 10 weeks to live. I spoke to her a couple of days ago; she is still putting in full days work (although admittedly mostly from home).

Edit: I don't put much credence on the reports of these doctors talking to the tabloid press. The people who know are Jobs' doctors with full access to his medical records and these people will be the best in the world, at the height of their careers. These are not the calibre of doctors who would throw away a world-class career and lifetime of over-achievement in return for a few column inches in a few down-market publications.

It's never gonna be the same without Steve. I just can't imagine watching a keynote without him.

Get well. May God be with you. Or Buddha. Which ever. Get well.

You know, a story about a friend is anecdotal evidence.

I know a guy who's 80+ and pole vaults. I'm also fully aware that almost everybody as old as him can't do it.

Steve Jobs is such an incredible human being, truly incredible.

They should respect his privacy, maybe he is just going in for a check up or something.

Without Steve Apple will never be the same, the man IS Apple.

I think SJ is gonna surprise everyone, and pull off the ultimate, "one more thing..."

We're all with you, SJ. God wants you around for the fragmented demise of Android.

Any reason as to why??

Houston has the best cancer center in the world. I don't know why they even bother going anywhere else. Hate to say it, but Swayze went to the same Hospital Steve is going to I think. They don't have the experience and support that the houston cancer center has.

Steve will never quit. Apple is his life's work. It's his brain child. His ideas and his drive changed the world?

I know if I were Steve, I wouldn't want to leave that until my life was taken from me. :apple:

Get over yourself. Introducing stuff like iPods isn't changing the world. If he managed to end poverty or stop people starving to death each day, then I'd agree that he changed the world.

I respect what he has achieved, but I think a healthy dose of perspective is needed.
