I doubt that. Music in the cloud- MEH! I think we're in for something very different although it will probably be a component of their offering.

I'm just not sure OSX Lion is ready to be released yet. They have made so many changes over the last few months, and so many developers say that it is still buggy. I can't see Apple releasing a new operating system unless it is polished. To rush it seems not like Apple at all.

So does the fact they just confirmed all this mean that they have something really big that will be called "One more thing..." by Steve Jobs? Please tell me iPhone 5 will have new things that make it a lot better than the iPhone 4.

It doesn't need to look new, it just needs new hardware that lets it do stuff the iPhone 4 couldn't. Otherwise I'm pissed that I didn't get the iPhone 4 last year.

Or else... it's not time yet for an all new product from Apple... unless they have a new app to add to iWork or iLife or their Pro Suite? But there haven't been rumors so that couldn't be...

I hope iCloud is more than music! I want app settings/save syncing to my multiple devices like Android introduced.

I couldn't agree more. It would seem weird showing a new iOS for the future on a device of the past.

I hope for a new phone as much as the next person, and I see where you are coming from here...but technically, it won't be a phone of the past until they come out with a new one. It will be the phone of the present demo-ing the future iOS. I could easily see them doing this...unfortunately.

A new surprise phone announcement would be awesome, but they are purposely trying to set expectations low. The question is whether they are doing it to avoid disappointment, or to disguise a surprise. We'll see in a week.

iChat for PC, please.

About freakin' time.

FaceTime on the PC is far more likely. iChat is just another AIM client, albeit a good one. FaceTime is incompatible completely with any other devices.

True.

I also see a connected world where you can enter the subway, the mall, etc. without ANY devices - just wireless headphone buds. These will be able to talk to the cloud located in the subway / mall / business where it can access your personal cloud material or public cloud material at that location.

The world would be differentiated by 'connected' spaces (like New York City) where all your devices are always with you without you really carrying anything, and 'unconnected' spaces like farms in South Dakota where you need real devices to access your music, videos, phone calls, etc.

In the 'connected world', you would just touch any one of thousands of public iPad type devices, wall-mounted screens, etc. and it becomes 'yours' with all your private data until your session is over. (Much the same that public pay-phones were around before personal cell-phones)

Pretty much correct. I like to carry very few things. iphone, credit card/wallet combo car keys, done.

With NFC coming I may just need a few bills and change and the car companies could launch apps that start and open their cars via RFID transmissions or so.

I'd like to see a small device that has no screen, but allows you to project whatever you want to look at onto whatever you chose.

Piece of white paper, wall, briefcase etc. Don't know if LED projecting takes more battery life than powering a screen though.

Or combine a screen with a projecting device.

Judging by the large number of reports of the Lion betas, and the absolute lack of hands-on reports of an iOS5 beta, I'm guessing we'll get the final release of Lion within 2 weeks of WWDC and a beta of iOS5 will be released to developers.

I don't expect the new iPhone to happen until September - probably alongside the iPod iOS devices. 3 months was the amount of time between the announcement of iOS 4 and iPhone 4. Both were made available the same week.

I don't think Apple will release a new handset without iOS 5.

Agreed.

It's not normal for Apple to release a beta of an iOS and release the finished hardware iPhone before the finished OS.

I wonder what the "One More Thing" will be though..

It would be a very dangerous move to wait until fall to release their new phone. With competition this thick they have alot to lose. People will want upgrades when their contract expires and I don't see the average consumer waiting until fall. Alot of them will end up new android and windows mobile phones that day.

I see iChat going the way of iSync. There are plenty of good IM clients out there now but video and audio chat sucks (I'm sorry but Skype is going down hill).

You obviously didn't read the report showing Android growth stopping vs the iPhone. And while I hope Windows Phone 7 gets it's act together it is no threat to iOS in it's current state.

There will be ... one more thing! I'm sure! It has to!

I know I'm going to be cooked alive for suggesting it, but I still hold out hope that the new iphone will be announced as well. Though I'm afraid it will be quite incremental and thus not that big of a deal.

Where is the Apple I have come to know and love? The one that keeps me guessing and feeding off rumors and supposed leaks until 10AM Pacific Time on announcement day?

Just because they pre-announced the main focus on the Keynote doesn't mean there isn't going to be a "One More Thing..." ;)

Let's hope iCloud is not only in the US!

Can't wait for iOS5! A better Notification system is all I want!

That and widgets will be nice too.

Android is still growing just the rate is slowing. But to the point those people up for upgrades will want new phones with the iPhone not available to them they will move to a different platfirm.

Despite him "headlining"...

I'm gonna predict that we'll see less of Jobs on stage than in the past. No one can give a keynote like Jobs, but it has been made clear that Apple wants to prepare for "life after Steve." One can infer that includes preparing everyone else, too.

So I won't be surprised to see him announce something with his usual flair but let others do more of the actual detail than they might have done in the past. Nothing new in this, but I'll really be interested to see how much time he's actually on stage.

honestly I see iCloud being DOA big time if apple charges 1 cent for it. Reason being is it will be limited to only Apple devices, More then likely only work threw iTunes on computers. Both are huge deal killers for a lot of people. A lot of Apple fans have moved over to Android for their cells phone so that kills it. iTunes required is another deal killer.

Lets compared that to Google Music or Amazon Cloud player. Both of which work on Android phones and have a web browser interface so that allows it to work on iPhones and any computer as well with out extra software installed.
