why would it be less than $129?
This is going to be big. I'm wondering is it worth updating Snow Leopard anymore with Lion now on the horizon.
Because everything flies on my iPad 2 in comparison to the iPhone 4. The difference is very obvious.
I cannot believe I forgot about the time difference. That's pretty bad for someone doing A level physics to be a pilot![]()
Because their software prices have been dropping, and the mac dev program, which costs $99, gets you a free copy.
Steve Jobs eh?, the man who only had six weeks to live in February![]()
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that the free copy was only for developer preview testing. The $99 isn't paying for OSX Lion, either, it's paying to be a Mac developer. So I'm not sure that Apple feels obliged to give out the stable version to developers for free when Lion gets released..
Kind of ruined the surprise, didn't it?
Where is the Apple I have come to know and love? The one that keeps me guessing and feeding off rumors and supposed leaks until 10AM Pacific Time on announcement day?
There will always be one more thing...
Because their software prices have been dropping, and the mac dev program, which costs $99, gets you a free copy.
I was thinking the same thing. But then again, Apple has been moving all of it's software to cheaper prices (Aperture $80, FCPX $299) and we now have the Mac App Store. So I'm betting Lion will be $29 thru The Mac App Store and a bit more - like $49 - for a DVD. Maybe a $79 DVD Family pack. Something like that. I think the days of the $129 OS are over. There is no discounted upgrade, just one version. It'll likely be more than Snow Leopard's $29 but less than the full $129 it's been in the past. $79 maybe?
Can someone explain to me what's the point of an Apple music streaming service? (Of course I could save space with it, but with storage prices falling constantly it's not a major issue.)
Streaming would only really be useable over WiFi (3G with my carrier performance and high prices? No thanks), in which case I could just do it locally at home. And if I'm away from my home network, I'd still rather have the content with me which would be more reliable.
I'm happy to be corrected, but I just don't get it.
