Based on history, they can be any day.

I said last week that I thought Monday the 29th was their target day. If I'm right, then of course, that's when we'll see it. But if yesterday was their target day, and they were delayed by their recent problems, then, yeah, it could pop up any day, any time.

Well, I really don't want to add to the hysteria concerning Beta 4, but … I've been watching the "Checking for Update … " spin for about 5 minutes right now. That could either be the beta 4 OTA update, or a glitch in iOS 7 beta 3. Guess I'll let it spin and see if the iPad either melts down or it gets an OTA update.

Mine spins for about 1/2 a second and then says my software is up to date. Think it might be something effecting just your device.

I know people are sick of hearing this, but why are you using beta software on a device that you clearly need working properly?

Because Apple products are so interesting and transformative (dare I write magical) they cause the average person to act in an irrational manner. Is that so hard to accept and understand?

What's wrong with the words "locked up"? Why do people refuse to describe it in that way? We've determined it's not DFU mode and it's obviously not powered off.

I don't get it.

Exactly. It's not DFU mode, I've had it work again after 5 mins of unresponsive like that.

Guys, this is Apple. If they wanted it released yesterday, they would have released it yesterday. :apple:

No they wouldn't have, as the Dev centre wasn't ready to go back up after that numpty hacked it. If it was meant to be released yesterday, then it'll go up once the dev site is sorted, even then probably not for a few hours to a day, to ensure it's back to stability. If it wasn't meant to be released yesterday, then it will appear when they intend to release it, maybe on 29th as some people had guessed.

Um, they released a beta of Mavericks yesterday and the site is still down.

They released an update to Mavericks yesterday. So, I'm pretty sure if they wanted to issue the iOS 7 beta 4 update yesterday, they would have..

Via the Mac App Store, I believe. iOS is different as devs need access to the IPSW and the new Xcode SDK....

And iOS betas are OTA...

Don't you need Xcode for Mac apps too?
They are provided as OTA as well, but the distribution of IPSW is still an important part of it--it's not likely they would do just an OTA update without providing access to the actual file that can be downloaded and used locally.

After it happened to me twice, and I read about numerous others having that problem, that was enough for me. I don't care enough to follow the issue that closely when I can just use a version that actually works. I just want to use my phone.
