There are other smartphone with Android besides those... look into those. Ypu seem to just post what makes your point look good. LED notification is a no go because it is useless method. Like I said, there are other better and more elegant ways.

I posted the top Android smartphones on the market. Why would I post about the less successful devices? Showing devices that don't sell well wouldn't prove anything b/c there clearly is significantly less demand for them. As I said previously, the TOP Android devices all have it...for a reason!

----------

If it was that important, you would still have a blackberry.

False...while it IS important there are multiple other features that are significantly more important. Nobody said it was an absolute requirement, just that it's a commonly requested feature that continues to be neglected.

Most top of the line phones nowadays have an LED notification light. If anyone says it's not useful, you're only lying to yourself. Sigh, lol.

There were plenty of people here saying an iPhone with a larger screen would be stupid and they would never upgrade if apple came out with one.

Just curious if they're sticking to that.

And that reason is not an LED indicator...

Some sort of visual (light) indicator that you could glance at your phone from across the room and know you had new calls, texts etc would be great. The only reason that they haven't put one on isn't because it's useless (most phones have them)... it's because of Mr. Ive. "No flashy, blinky lights ruining my industrial designs... hrmp!"

And that reason is not an LED indicator...

Irrelevant...the fact remains is that the top Android phones all have it. After you said, "Many Android phones adopt other techniques other than the LED light. You should look into those options and you will realize, there are other ways of doing it with better results..." I proved you wrong and now you're simply trying to change the subject. Just accept the fact that you didn't know what you were talking about and this is a feature that has been adopted b/c it's been requested by customers. End of story.

Irrelevant...

Oh, but that is relevant. The top feature on those phone is not a LED indicator, but something else. People don't buy those phones because they look at them and say 'OMFG BBQ WTF an LED indicatorrrrzzzz?!?!?!!111oneone!!"

They buy them because of other features, Google's Maps, and the easy rooting of Android. An LED indicator is the last thing they look at or even notice.

LOL once again you're posting pointless information. The fact remains that the top Android phones HAVE adopted this feature b/c they know their users want it and request it. THAT's the point. It's wanted and other manufacturers besides Apple have adopted it!

Read the thread before posting duplicate info...I already addressed this:

Putting the phone face down is 1. dangerous for the screen and 2. prevents you from seeing the screen when you do get a message. The point of an LED indicator is to be able to tell you have a notification when you MISSED the screen going on in the first place. Turning on the blinking flash on the backside is not a realistic solution for most people.

I beg to differ. Many Android phones adopt other techniques other than the LED light. You should look into those options and you will realize, there are other ways of doing it with better results and much more eye candy that makes the phone look better at doing it.

Why are you so against a useful feature that so many other phones have? I bet you're also against status bar indicators for missed calls, new messages, etc... You know, extremely useful stuff that I've had on my phones since before my old Razr back in the day.

On the other hand, if the iPhone did include these features all along, you'd think they were the greatest things ever.

Amirite?

Doesn't matter if it's a feature that is a key factor in deciding to purchase. What many are saying is it would be a nice feature to include. I don't recall the OP, or anyone else for that matter, saying they're not buying the next iPhone because it doesn't have an LED indicator. I've been using a Galaxy Nexus since I sold my 4s and I'll be getting the 5. The LED notification is one of the few features from the GNex I'd like to see on an iPhone. It's unintrusive (not distractingly bright or battery intensive) and can be turned off if you don't want to use it. What's the negative adding it?

You mean like if you couldn't see the screen, cuz it was face-down! :D

No... like if you're on a conference call, or working at your computer or something, and your phone is off to the side on your desk. Or if you step away or turn your back for a couple minutes. Come back, screen is black, and you have no idea you missed anything unless you turn it on. However, with an LED indicator, you would notice the blinking light and instantly know that you should check your phone.

It's one of my most missed features from Android. That, status bar icons, and Google Navigator.

I'm sure you were also among that said copy n paste is a useless feature when only a "handful" requested it.

Actually, no. You can browse through my post history and you'll see I actually like to criticize Apple a lot. I hate the new 4" screen, I think it is a stupid decision. I dislike the whole get rid of Google Maps.

LED indicator is not the greatest feature (be it from Apple or Google), it is just a perk. A good feature would have been NFC which many Android phones already have and which Intel is pushing AND WORKS WELL WITH THE IDEA BEHIND PASSBOOK. Now that would have been a better feature. LED indicator? Nop.

No, I was for Copy/Paste. I very much wanted it since iPhone OS 2.0.0

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I was just having some fun.

Besides, I'm not a big fan of the LED indicator currently since I recently spent the first few minutes of a movie trying to ignore one. I was about to tell the woman to do something about it when she noticed and, thankfully, left the theatre to deal with it.

You act like the features are mutually exclusive. Who cares if NFC would have been a 'better feature'--not like you can only have one or the other, or neither. Please explain the negative to including an LED, why are you so opposed? You have given a single reason why yet.

I never stated I oppose it, I just state that it is not a feature that will make anytime soon. Why? Not enough attention draw or marketability in it. NFC? It does have a nice market and will be bigger technological advancement.

LED light is not a 'wow' factor, just a convenience factor. Apple wants 'wow' instead. Convenience has taken back seat.
