Software update uses your apple ID login vice your admin password. Is that what you tried? Not yet. Can't update from 12.3 to 12.4. Software update wil not accept my admin password even though I can log in and make other system changes like users and groups account info.
How strange. The same thing happened to me today (8th July) too. This happened to me today (8th July) - thanks very much, I unplugged the monitor for 15 seconds and that seems to have resolved it. I'm on firmware 15.5. Monterey 12.4
Did you call Apple tech support to tell them?OK, thanks. I was hoping I wasn't the only one. I wonder how common this is and if Apple even knows this is an issue.
Seems unlikely YouTube specifically would have anything to do it. Happened to me while I was using Logic. Is YouTube the common culprit here?
No, all sources. Mine did it once and hasn't since I did the uplug replug routine. Is YouTube the common culprit here?
I do. Logitech mx master mouse and a keychron keyboard.Do most people have Logitech devices? Just trying to eliminate possible issues.
I have a Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse, but Apple Keyboard. HmmmI do. Logitech mx master mouse and a keychron keyboard.
oh please all report this bug here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/displays/
I experience this issue for the first time this morning. I restarted the Mac Studio but the issue persisted. Panic ensued. I then found this post and unplugged the Studio Display for ten seconds. That worked!!! Crisis aborted. I hope the issue is some sort of bug that Apple can fix with a firmware update.I have had my Mac Studio (Max) and Studio Display for about three weeks. No problems until today when the sound from the display speakers had intermittent dropout. For example there would be five seconds of sounds and two of dropout, then seven of sound and one of dropout. The intervals seemed random. This was not the crackling noise that others have described in other threads. This did not happen if I switched the output to the internal speaker of the Mac or used headphones plugged into the Mac headphone jack. I tried using a different thunderbolt port on the Mac without success. Rebooting the Mac didn't help. Just as I was thinking that I had an evolving hardware failure in the display I decided to reboot, i.e. power cycle, the display. This fixed the problem! It has been stable now for a few hours. I wouldn't think that a failing hardware component would get fixed by a power cycle. I have read that the Studio Display actually runs a version of the iOS operating system. Do you think this is a software (firmware) problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
