Right, well that would be a terrible solution! I bought this, in part, for the speakers, which are excellent. The good news is that this probably is a software issue.
I agree, but the only solution for me if I want to still use my Display.

I would give it a few days of using your ASD several hours of use before I'd say you're in the clear, but I hope for your sake it doesn't come back.

Yep, I will. Just interesting that I never had this problem until I plugged in the game controller. The only other USB device plugged in to ASD is an ethernet adapter, which has been there since day one. Interestingly, in addition to the audio issues, the internet connection seems to have cut out, requiring a restart.

Seeing as this thread has gone quiet for a week, I'm hoping that means the software update has generally resolved the sound issues people were having? Would love to hear more feedback, both positive and negative. Thank you in advance.

I only had an audio issue when I had the Blackbone PS5 edition game controller plugged into the ASD. I haven't tested it with the controller plugged into my MBP. The issue I had was system audio going into a repeat loop and crashing the system. Perhaps it's a USB issue.

I did the power cycle back on May 10, has been fine since then.

It actually did turn out to be a USB issue. After having to unplug my ASD from power at least once a day, I thought I disconnected everything (two external hard drives I had plugged into the Display), but apparently I still had this small USB receiver for a gaming mouse that's been turned off this entire time.

The same USB receiver is now plugged into my Mac Studio's front USB C port, and I haven't experienced any issues whatsoever. I'll be reaching out to Apple and letting them know, as well as Logitech. A USB receiver for a mouse that's completely turned off should not have caused audio/video issues to the extent I was dealing with on my Apple Studio Display.
