That's an emphatic NO!! The iPhones come to me I don't go to it, besides am not in a hurry to dismiss my 7+ :D. I just can't believe it's nearly a year old already .

So the plan is to obviously to assess the product at launch, wait for the reviews then jump on the non-essential & very expensive wagon!!

I think everyone will disappointed cauze apple will announce like last yrs

( Do not wait in line out of stock ) preorder online

I don't think they are doing that anymore, which is disappointing. I have bought 2 iPhones lining up in the queue, and I really enjoyed it.

Why not , iphone 7 is bit change and still high demand sale back order every where

This year 8 , anniversary model -

I get the allure of queuing up, it's kind of fun on some level, but I just despise being inside of the Apple Store. Couple that with the fact you're never guaranteed to get exactly what you want and I'll take "3AM pre-orders" for $869 Alex.

...if I upgrade, which isn't a given because we don't know what features and how much it will cost.

If I am not mistaken, lining up gets you the phone faster than the preorders due to shipping (unless you do one day shipping maybe? but too expensive...)

That would depend on how much available stock an Apple Store has and how many of those individuals are in front of you purchasing the same model. Your Not always guaranteed to get an iPhone based off standing in line outside an Apple store.

Never lined up for a phone, but I will be smashing the refresh button in the minute leading up to the online release!
I lined up once at an AT&T corporate store two hours ahead of opening because I also needed to make changes to my AT&T account. Don't really care to repeat the experience.

Nope, its a phone, not something that is life or death. If I need a new phone, I'll order it and wait it out, I'm not convinced yet that I'll take the plunge as my iPhone SE is doing fine and why spend upwards of a 1,000 for a phone

I think those that are truly after the "8" are so vain, there's no way they'll settle for an inferior 7s

I really want the 8, because I'm sure it will have much better features than the 7s. So no, I'm not going to setttle for something less than what I want, I'll wait if it's out of stock. But how on earth does that make me vain?

I'm pretty sure the iPhone 8 will be strictly pre-order only... I can't imagine them screwing over pre-order customers again by having walk-ins get the phones quicker.

Surely they'll have some at least? Seeing as it's much more effort to queue for hours and hours.

I get that it's effort but it's not about effort... Every major Apple launch the last couple of times had pre-orders waiting for weeks when apparently all you had to do is walk in on the day and just pick a device. I also think that since Angela came there has been more of a push to move everything online and avoid massive launch day lines... But I guess we'll know in a month or so.

Depending on your carrier, my 7 Plus was half the price of its full price tag with trade incentives and promotional discounts. Those are the factors someone should try to look for if they are offered during certain time frames, as someone can save a considerable amount of money. It's also dependent on which model the carrier is offering towards the incentive.

Good points from @Relentless. I guess I'll wait to see what T-Mobile does and how much out of pocket I'll have to fork over every month. I just hate to be indebted to the "company store" but at the price of iPhones going over $1K, not much you can do if you really want the latest and greatest.

You really want a phone although you effectively admit you don't know the actual features (benefits). In reality, you want it because of who makes it and the model number. Right ?

I want an upgrade for my 7+ and as I prefer iOS, it's going to be an iPhone. Seeing as Apple are the only manufacturer who use iOS, obviously I want a phone made by them.

We don't know all the facts about the new iPhones but you'd have to be pretty naive to not think the 8 will be a much better upgrade than a 7S would be. OLED screen, along with much reduced bezels on the 8 are a given & very much appeals to me. Is that ok with you?

Agreed. I'm getting $27.09 monthly credit for 24 months on my iPhone 7 with iPhone 6 trade-in. We've been with AT&T for 11 years, get good coverage and are grandfathered to a relatively inexpensive plan. I figured tying myself to AT&T for another 2 years (something I'd probably do anyway) plus tax fair for a 1:1 trade of iPhone 6 for iPhone 7. Hadn't been planning on upgrading last year but the deal was too good to pass up.

I’m perfectly happy with my 7, so I won’t be getting the next iteration. However, I’d never line up for a phone like this. My time is worth more than that.

I will preorder but I have never managed to get in to the first trance of deliveries so if retail store queues is an option i will do that as well and preorder. I have done overnight queues before and the camaraderie with the other guys queuing is good fun.
