If the only option with the refresh is a retina display, I'll probably just get a Mac Pro.
That's a good value. Only 2 years old specs, so, only a toddler as far as Apple is concerned.

So if we look on the past pattern, and adding last year history release dates ' plus combining the small delay in nvidia chips, it all point to July release, any other date doesn't make any sense...No. Steve Jobs' estate purchased all of the outstanding shares and took the company private, so they no longer have to host calls for financial analysts.
Edit: ohh.. you want the date. http://bit.ly/McGX1H
Wouldn't you be better off getting an iMac when you get there?
They cost a lot more there. A high-end 27" iMac is around $3k instead of $2k.

Almost any place outside of the US has increased Apple tax, especially the UK
I thought the prices were comparable once you back out the VAT.

Murphy's Law makes me pretty confident that the new iMac's will be out next week. Why am I so confident? Apple agreed to replace my mid-2011 iMac with a new one today due to recurring logic board failures. Probably means new ones will be out next week once my new one is ready. Probably also why they were do willing to replace it versus repair - clean out stock.
I have done a little investigating through my place
I have done a little investigating through my place of business and using my rights as a purchasing agent for an unnamed semi conductor manufacturer. And have been told some amazing things that just can't wait.
You will all be happy to know that the IMac refresh is coming in July with certain subtle redesigns. Slightly thinner, no optical drive on base models and there will be 3 versions of the new machine with retina only being a high end exclusive machine that will increase the price by as much as 33 %-40%. The differences are that the lowest models are 15 and 19 inch that will run similar to a MacBook air or Mac mini. The Middle class will resemble what we currently know a mac to look and feel like. The retina class will be offered in 23 inch and 31 inch due to display availability in its res that is required for it to still be classed by apple as retina. Boom, all retina models will be 3d and come with glasses for three reasons. 1. Watching 3d content. 2.like ps3 the ability to see something different than what the guy next to you. 3. They have a new tech for multi tasking in a way you've never seen done before.
Enjoy

Why wouldn't apple produce a 3d iMac?

Oh I get it, you just like to complain about real rumors. Ivy bridge is coming whoop de frickin doo. USB 3.0 whoa. Retina, who gives a fudge. Bunch of sniffling two year olds. At least try to have fun with the waiting.
I know somebody will come back and cry about how they need it for work. Realize that most of the people here are probably 14 year old spoiled rich kids that just want it for games or to show off. It's a frickin computer. Yes I want a new one but I'm not going to speculate on all of the speculation and then whine when somebody posts something I don't think is real. You guys that keep coming on here and crying about what's taking so long. I'm sure there is good reason. Apple does want to make more money and continue its reign as the most valuable tech company. But the reality is that they've been very disappointing lately and i expect more disappointment moving forward. I don't think they will be out in July because that's what I want. I don't think they will be redesigned because that's what I want. Apple doesn't care about computers or computer users as much as they do iOS . They dropped the name apple computer quite some time ago. Desktops have become their last priority. Imagine being a Pro guy... It's complete BS what they're becoming and there is absolutely nothing any of us idiots can do about it. I've written countless emails about there philosophy towards us desktop people and never once has anybody from apple ever replied. They are too big and it's going to their head. They are losing the mobile battle to google and have stopped innovating which is what killed them before steve jobs returned. Stop suing the competition and continue innovating to stay 3 years ahead of anybody else. The reality is that they're pro computer is 3 years old. How many PCS from 3 years ago are still on shelves for the same price. Apple is really starting to suck.
^ 10 to 1 odds he's trying to justify his recent 2011 iMac purchase to himself![]()
