Well since I won't be getting a Surface Duo anytime soon (seriously Microsoft release the thing here in the U.K) I have ordered a pair of the Surface Headphones 2, they should arrive next week.

My AirPods Pro are starting to have the same issue as the last pair I had, so I have decided to just use those for running and the Surface Headphones 2 for around the house (since they have better battery life and probably better noise cancellation).

Oh no, why don't you get them replaced in warranty?
Those things are expensive!!!!

I did the first time around, these are my second pair that Apple sent me. I have a feeling there is a design flaw with them, the noise cancelling I think has the flaw.
I have seen a number of posts where users say they have had 4 or 5 replacements, I don’t want that! i will use them for when I go for a run and cut my losses.

What a disgrace that they break so easily at that price. I got the Airpods Pro as a gift. They were nice but didn't fit my ears...and kept falling. So, after trying the foam tips (they fell even more than before) I returned them. I very rarely return products, but the AirPods Pro were my exception. Perhaps the first product I have returned in my life.

After my second pair of normal AirPods broke (battery started lasting less then one hour and then they began turning off even after charging. Same problem as my first pair...dammit), I tried the Galaxy Buds+, without expecting too much. And...wow, if I was surprised. To me they are the best. Even better than the Airpods Pro (sound, comfort, features, battery life). And they fit perfectly, thanks to their integrated anti-slip wings. They Work great on Windows too, and allow rapid switching between smartphone and pc.
I paid ~100 euros for them and can't recommend them enough.

My first gen Airpods were great, no issues! the battery life did go down towards the end but I think because they are small they can’t fit much battery in, batteries degrade over time.

These AirPods Pro have been nothing but a pain, I had an issue with charging and the sound on my first pair, Apple eventually agreed to replace them, now the replacements are having the same issue.

I have heard good things about the Surface Headphones 2, so I thought I would buy a pair and see for myself 😃

Bluetooth simply is a pain. And it blows my mind that it’s still such a struggle after all these years.
that’s the reason why an iPhone without ports is my biggest fear... Nonono

Surface Headphones 2 look fantastic. Enjoy them.

I heard great things about the SH2. If I was still living in Europe I would buy them for sure! (where I am currently staying it is just too hot =) )

The Surface DOA, why does that exist? Not enough Android devices in the world?

It's the most pointless product I've ever seen.

uhm...I strongly disagree. Flawed, yes (I think we can all agree on that). Pointless, I don't think so, even if it ends up being a failure.

My Surface headphones arrived this morning, they sound great to me (I'm not an audiophile tho), I love the fact that they connect to two devices for example my iPad Pro and my iPhone, they then switch depending which one is being used! this feature is a time saver.

They do feel premium and have a little weight when on the head (I like this tho). Battery life I can't really comment on so far since I have only been using them for a couple of hours.

Ohh nice, nice! =)
So...you don't need to select them? if they are connected to the phone and then start watching a youtube video they switch automatically?
How is the noise cancellation? Compared to Airpods Pro?

When you set them up, you can pair them to two devices. So for example I'm currently working on my MacBook Pro and have them paired with that and my iPhone. When I walked away too go make a coffee I picked up my iPhone and just tapped a song to play and it automatically started playing on my Surface Headphones.

Noise cancellation is great, I have it on maximum setting while working with some music on and I can't even hear the sound of my 2019 13" MacBook Pro keyboard (which is a loud keyboard lol). The sound is also better than my AirPods Pro, altho it's probably a little unfair to compare them considering the AirPods are an in ear type while the Surface headphones are over ear and therefore bigger.

So far I'm happy!

This is quite impressive! My galaxy buds+ can also be paired to two (or more) devices at the same time, but switching is not automatic, you need to choose to switch. I wonder which approach I would prefer in the long term...

ahah, it sure is! Great to hear you are happy with them!

Looks very interesting, and also very bulky and like something I don't want to use as a phone :) It also runs Android, so I'm out anyway.
Can't wait to see Apple's take on foldable phones in the future

I get their passion behind it but equally that video was a bit ridiculous in parts. Here, watch me work on a publisher file directly from my Surface Duo using a $5k Surface Studio on my desk..

It's basically the new wireless Samsung Dex?
Was it ? I thought she was showing off Your Phone app on laptop/desktop

To be fair I thought she was showing on the Studio as the screen was large

I do not think people realise you can have up to 3 windowed apps on your phone displayed on your laptop in a window and interact with them all from your laptop :)

3 scree.jpg

Sorry this is on my MS Surface GO so a little cramped

Dex is another level

I guess you are right. I missed the Phone Panel window to the left on the first watch and because I skimmed I missed her mentioning Your Phone. I am more used to using Dex for that kind of thing, since you don't even need to open it on the phone first, etc. You just open it straight from the Dex desktop.

I haven't made up my mind yet on the Duo. I do like it, but I have bought so much tech in these last months. I just received the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook (Ruby Red) after I wouldn't ever see myself with a Chrome book... Samsung got me. But it is a great device. ChomeOS has come a long way, and I set up Linux and some development tools on it. It is the bomb! In addition the Android productivity apps look great. It has a nice desktop, and a real file system, unlike iPad pro. But this is my third purchase in the last few months, Surface Book, Galaxy Book Flex, and Galaxy Chrome book, and now here comes the Duo... Kill me now!

How is the battery life, I had this in the checkout screen then I noticed a video said 2.5 hours battery, some were reaching 5 hours tops. That worried me, other than that it seems to be an amazing device.
