From reading the article, its seems this small but expensive watch maker did that, just to make waves, i.e., get press time and it worked.

Personally, I'd rather spend a few hundred on my apple watch aport then 24,000 on this watch, but that's just me.

It is not OK when Apple made the look alike typeface watch in iOS. They had to pay a settlement and the Press made lofts of nasty comments on the matter.
I wonder how it is going to be this time? How will the Press behave? Will they be forced to stop using the Apple's Design?
I don't think Apple should let it pass by, they should go nuclear on this cuco watch maker.
Steve Jobs sure would.

Very funny!

I think some people are taking this the wrong way: it's a little joke, and a light-hearted one at that.

Breaking News: Swiss Manufacturer getting the **** sued directly out of their asses.

:D

I don't understand. How exactly is this infringing on an Apple patent? Apple ridiculously made a claim that they could be the only ones that could produce a rectangle phone, but a watch? Watches like this have been around for over 100 years.

How is this an Apple Watch clone? Casio and others have made watches in this form for decades before the Apple watch. If anything Apple copied them....

Its $25,000 and it doesn't even come with a USB port or a battery. Someone please blame Apple for this greed.

Let's wait until iFixit pulls it apart before we jump to conclusions.

Hoping they open for pre-orders at 12 a.m. tonight.

@ 26:30 he's wearing a watch that looks idenical to Apples watch design but it's in the 1980's. Lets tone down the blatant calls of "ripoff"
Thanks for your post (saved me the hassle of looking for it myself)...

BTW...If anyone (including the author) does not get the nature of this publicity stunt by a brand that sells well below 2000 watches per year and tries to imply this of as a sign that traditional watchmakers are adopting the apple watch design...

Yes, it is pretty clever and funny too :)

That said, it looks like the "Apple vs Switzerland" contest has moved on to stage two (according to this guy, at least):

Correction:
$25k for a device styled as a blatant ripoff of butt-ugly gimmick !

Ha, good one.

...lol.

And the Apple Watch looks like a kids toy from a McDonald's Happy Meal.

Ha, good one.

I find the change in critical narrative to be quite hilarious if not completely expected. First the design was terrible because the AW wasn't round like most common watches. Now that the design has been validated by competitors, the Apple Watch is now copying previous square designs.

You people really need to make up your mind.

Swiss watches were once considered the best in the world.

But now they're resorting to tacky looking knock-off's of Apple's designs. Sad.

I don't see how the actions of a tiny company having a bit of fun at Apple's expense can reflect that badly on the Swiss watch industry.

Repairability score 0/10 - you must be a master watchmaker to repair this device.
I don't think it will be glued together though. :D

LOL....you really need to Google watches of the 80s and 90s forward. There is nothing new to these designs. They have been around for decades and some for a 100 years.
To set the record straight......any watch manufacturer that releases a watch going forward is not copying the AW since these watch designs have existed before the AW. If anything the AW is validating the old Casio designs from decades ago. There have been previous high end watches for quite some time.

Then please show me where I have complained about round designs versus square designs concerning the AW.

This is kind of dumb. Even though the watch itself will not become obsolete technologically, it will effectively become obsolete when Apple advances the design because it will look like an old obsolete tech product. So it will lose all of its appeal in a couple of years and make the wearer look "out of date".

Go back before the 80s and you'll find a watch that's even more of a match...

You want Apple to go all out whiny emo Kylo Ren?
Acting like a b---h makes Apple look weak. Period.

How are you guys not getting it? I'm truly dumbfounded by how oblivious some people are or are you letting your dislike of the Apple Watch cloud your judgement that much. The Swiss watch in question has clearly copied the look of the Apple Watch if not to 100% at least 95% and no one is talking about just the fact it is also square in shape. If you really can't see the resemblance yet pull a picture of a Casio watch as in its similar to the Apple Watch then well you truly are having a terrible laugh. People are also now saying as if it's a factual quote that Apple have claimed to be the originator of the square watch face?! I must have missed that, everyone knows there were watches of that shape long before Apple came along but all it seems to be now is people either complain that Apple used a square face in the first place or that they claim to be the inventor of said shape. Can't believe the **** people post & make up just to argue about a product the likelihood they don't even own, I own a ps4 but you won't find me bitching on a Xbox forum or the rival team of a football club that I support...

How can you tell it looks identical? There are like 7 pixels making up his entire wrist in that blurry video.
